The G06 was released with Manhattan Green. It looks awesome on the X6. But I don't like it on the X5.

No offense - colors are subjective, but green, especially this green is repulsive to me. I still can't understand how BMW can't offer the X5 in a classic silver but put out this hideous color.

I agree with you, it is personal preference, originally when I walked into the dealer I asked for silver and sales man told me there is no silver on G05! I was very disappointed, I aimed for a white one and test drove it , then I saw this Manhattan Green one, it looked so good under the sun! so I took it, it is not light green it is dark and brown tone to it, so you cannot say it is green like grass, some people say Olive green but it is darker than that

I showed these Manhattan Green photos to my wife and her reaction was perfect. She said, "Oh no....why??"
My first 3 cars were green back when green was a thing. Maybe its going to get popular again. Also, I'm sure the car looks great in person, but these photos do not do it justice. |

My dealer had about 10 X5s in Manhattan Green on the lot. They were stunning in person. They said they were very popular with the officers at Fort Bragg. I would have bought one, except that they had none of the options that I wanted.

Indeed. The market that drives X5 sales. Old enough that they need something easy to get in and out of, wanting a smooth ride but also a BMW.
Since folks have been strangely commenting on the fact that my elderly clients' taste does not represent mass appeal, that was never something I suggested. There has been a fringe color on both previous generations of X5 that wasn't for everyone. Sparkling Brown Metallic on the F15, Sparkling Bronze Metallic on the E70. Sparkling Bronze was arguably the best looking and probably the best selling of these three, but was still a questionable taste for the 80%+ of buyers that consider anything outside of white, black and maaaaaybe dark blue paints to be fringe. It will likely disappear prior to or subsequent with the mid cycle LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) on the car.

What people who haven't had these colors don't get is they change and morph in different light and in a way a camera/picture can't or barely picks up.
In bright sunlight the car can look like it has 5 or 6 colors on it. I had moonstone and it definitely wasn't "silver": green, gold, red ... sometime matte silver or grey ... and twilight is the bewitching hour. One time in a parking lot 3 people just stood there staring at it for like 5 minutes and I got compliments almost everywhere, even people driving by would roll down their windows and yell out "whoa awesome color!". I've never had that with any other color. Definitely agree about the black trim though - black it all out! My ruling? |

Just ordered "Manhattan Green" 45e with Coffee brown leather. Staying with the non-M tarnished chrome appearance including available 20" bright wheels.
Will post photos when it arrives in a few weeks. As another person already posted... It ain't easy being green! |

Ordered a 45e in Manhattan Green for my wife a couple weeks ago…never would have picked this color but one was being delivered when we went in to order (tried to go with Bluestone Metallic via BMW Individual, but no-go for this year)…and I have to say the color is stunning in person.
We ordered after seeing it in person…looks amazing in direct sunlight; definitely more gray than green. Looks more green with polarized sunglasses on. Not a real pic, but here’s the image from the configurator: Ordered with pretty much all options except running boards, and the only decision before the build locks is whether or not we’ll stick with the blue or go with red calipers. Either looks great IMHO. …and bonus, this color made it easy to come up with a name (all our vehicles have names): |

I think it is a stunning color so add me to the + list on it. If I would have ordered vs buy off the lot, it was one I was considering. I actually have not seen it in person but I'm used to some colors that change color in lighting and so I found enough photos to give me perspective. I'm not usually someone to black out but that color combo looked pretty sharp to me.

We intended to order some flavor of blue…and went in to look at an Arctic Grey with the coffee interior we wanted, but a couple was taking delivery of their Sdrive 40 in Manhattan Green (M sport trim like we wanted, but with black wheels), and we couldn’t stop walking around the vehicle looking at it in different lighting. Totally felt like a stalker at one point as they were going over features with their salesman, and we kept walking by! When we found out we couldn’t get the Bluestone Metallic we wanted, even with the $5K up charge for the BMW Individual program paints: …I was still game for Tanzanite (very close match to my Porsche) or maybe Macau Blue: But we kept looking at that X5 in Manhattan Green. Once we realized going with a standard color would knock 5-7 weeks off the build time (we’re trying to get the $7500 tax credit on our 45e this year), it was a no-brainer. We really like the Arctic Grey too, but like the Carbon Black, is a bit too dark. Really looking forward to seeing this truck in person, but we don’t even have a build date yet! Will ping the salesman later today… |
