Recently, he put on midpipes. I'm not certain if these are Akra or another make. Notice the spool-down at the end!

Damn that sounds nice!

Alan, did you just do the slip on axle back exhaust (no down pipe tweaks)? Are you happy with the exhaust and feel like you improved over the competition M sport exhaust?

I've installed full system and so far I'm not as thrilled as i thought i would be. Its very mellow..keep in mind i also have the valves stuck in open position to avoid using ASD button for additional cabin noise. I was much more impressed with the same on my F10 or Remus on my F90.. This could also be just the fact that F95/96 has superior sound proofing properties vs previous models.

Granted, it was just installed last night and perhaps baffles need a bit to break-in.. but on the same token i heard hardly any pops/cracks on upshfits/downshifts/deccel..it would be nice to have just the right amount additional exhaust "crisp" note as on previous M models i've had;(definitely none of that obnoxious popping from aftermarket tunes where it sounds like launch control or worse)

second day, its already growing on me more.. could be just that first day driving car back at 10pm wasn't the best time for a "complete" exhaust note review, lol.

Nice write up. I see ER midpipes your near future 😇

Yes just the slip on and very happy with it. Slighty louder but more importantly the tone of the exhaust is better and noticeable when you are cruising or full throttle. Has a nice smooth exotic tone to it imo. not into that pop pop pop crap.

add a 200 cell primary CAT and delete the secondary CAT and you'll get what you're looking for. lots of turbo noise, bangs and some burbles

catless DPs would be a bit much I think.

I only did secondary pipe cat delete along with full exhaust, the pops are so loud in M1. I actually had to reconnect the wires back to the flaps so they would be closed in comfort mode.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! It's def grown on me over the last few days.. maybe I'll opt for secondaries but def not touching primaries.. with the valves open all the time it's too loud on start up once warm it's perfect.. I found this to work as quick solution to disabling ASD while having valves open.. m1/m2 are programmed to have exhaust button off and I usually drive in one of those modes.. comfort rarely but if so I can manually hit the exhaust button and turn the exhaust note off.

it would be so much easier if coding was available..
