I'm curious what the difference is between having dynamic handling package and not. Last time I test drove one without it and I almost threw up when I rode the boat.

Well, I finally found out my delivery date (at the factory) - March 4th. The car completes sometime in Mid-February, but, due to COVID restrictions, won't be able to pick it up until then. Guess they have drastically reduced the number of people they allow on the site on any given day...

My X5 went through the production process yesterday - takes roughly 3 shifts start to finish. Now I'm just waiting for March 4th to arrive.

X5 is finished! Says at the dealership. Assume that means at the delivery center as i-am taking delivery in Greenville at the factory.

Mine completed on 2/9, and it is slowly making its way to California. It appeared to have left KC yesterday, so I’m thinking 10 days from delivery. Nice choice in build by the way. Here is mine ;-)

My X3 completed on 2/9 as well, probably in the same train transit to Oregon.

There was a 1 week delay on the build week from what I was originally told (moved from week 6 to a week 7 build) and was told this was due to supply chain issues. So, total wait time from order to delivery for me is ~11 weeks. Would I have liked it sooner - sure. But with the special paint color, merino leather and pandemic issues, I can't complain. |

So, finally took delivery. Everything I had hoped for and more! First time I saw the car was upon entering the Performance Center - front and center.
For anyone considering taking delivery at the factory, I highly recommend it. First class! |

Damn that Tanz blue is HAWT! Almost wish I'd have said I can wait those extra weeks and gotten that. I was going to get the Phot. Blue but after seeing it in Wisconsin winter I didn't like it unless it was sparkling clean. I think that Tanz will stand up to a bit of dirt and still look sharp.

I think folks that have it have said the opposite, TB shows the dirt very easily and is tough to keep looking good. I would imagine folks will chime in to correct/confirm.

Outstanding build - Looking at either a X40i or M50i build myself. I'm just caught on which way to go. What was the big selling point for you between going with the V8 or not?

Good points also on the color. That being said, I have never had more comments on a car’s color than I have had in this one. To protect, I did decide to go with PPF and ceramic coating. Hopefully, that will help! Last edited by Atl Fahrer; 03-15-2021 at 10:04 AM.. |
