For 2022 x5 xdrive40i, i got manual lower tailgate (closed most of the times), when i open upper tailgate through keyfob, its not closing with keyfob press. I need to close again by pressing button on upper tailgate. Any reason why i am having this issue?

I don’t think its a standard key fob function, I had mine programmed so the key fob closes the hatch.

From factory, you can’t close it with the key fob button, but you can enable it through coding.

I used BimmerCode.

Well; it's country specific. My G05 bought in the Czech Republic, as well as my previous F15, both have this function - when you hold the button on the remote, the hatch closes. I surely haven't done any coding.

I assume this is why, 1) it doesn’t work from the factory in the US and 2) why you can change it to work via coding.

Highly unlikely. BimmerCode is probably the easiest way to do this...the program runs on both Android and iOS. To unlock it and the OBD adapter needed is fairly inexpensive. It's simple as picking items off of a menu. www.bimmercode.app you can download it and run it in demo mode to get a feel for how it works, and their website lists the things it can currently do.

You'll probably find other things you may want as well.
