2023 X5 Pricing - New England Area

Hi - I have messaged several brokers online who are guaranteeing 7%-9% off sticker plus incentives (loyalty). Has anyone had any luck with brokers in the New England area and is this pricing a reasonable target to avoid the broker and go direct to a dealer who has inventory? Looking at a relatively base 40i.

Have used the same dealer 3x but their sales department wasn’t overly interested in negotiation.

Thanks

In general you should be able to get the same discount a broker does however it will depend on the effort you put into it, timing, location, etc. Discounts often are regional and have not heard anything specific for your area, hopefully someone chimes in.

I'm in upstate NY and contacted everyone along I90 and the most I got was 1k off ordered, everyone else was MSRP. This was a couple months ago but even at the time brokers were offering at least 3-5% off, just for a reference point. No one seemed too keen on negotiating at the time. I was also looking at the m50i so more niche.

I did last October. I reached out dealerships in NH, VT, MA, and RI, hoping that someone might be able to offer a discount. All of them offered me MSRP and refused to negotiate. Some wanted $3,000 non-refundable deposit and required me to finance through the dealership with a higher rate than my credit union was offering. A few dealers were just aggressive, rude, and condescending. They wanted me to order ASAP or tried to sell me what they had on the lot.

So after that experience, I reached out to a broker outside of New England. They assured me about the discount %, refundable deposit, and they are fine with me bringing my own financing. So I paid my fee to them and received 7.5% off MSRP. The process was pretty easy. Deposit was only $1,000, which was refunded after I picked up my car.

I had to fligh out and pick up my car, but I think it was worth the time. It was fun driving my new X5 back home and I got to know the car pretty well.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
