Was able to drop by and see our X5 last night! HOLY CRAP...its so freaking amazing! Wife and I absolutely LOVE the Tartufo interior color. Exactly what we were hoping for. It actually appears darker in person than some of the photos we saw on the internet before we placed our order. The iPhone photos don't quite pick up the exact color very well, I think its hard to photograph accurately (photos look more orange, when it appears more brown in person). We didn't get a chance to drive it, hopefully we will be picking it up later today (or maybe tomorrow, waiting on BMWFS docs to end wife's 528i lease early).
This was the first time my wife had seen the X5 in person (I got to see it at the dealer training event) and she fell in love instantly with it! Its exactly what she was hoping for. I'll be able to write a more thorough review once we get it home. The only 2 sort of negative comments I have are: 1) There are wrinkles in the back seat Merino leather. I don't think its a deal breaker, and I don't think anyone else would know they aren't supposed to be there unless I told them. I might bring it up when we sign the papers to see if BMW would be able to replace them anyway. 2) I kinda wish we went with the M-Sport brakes. The stock silver calipers look a bit on the small side in those large 21" wheels. But not a huge deal. Here are some quick iPhone photos. We didn't have too much time with it, will get better photos with our DSLR later at some point.

To me it's the one to go for - the M Suspension Professional is very very plugged in however it can not compare with the cushioned ride of the air-suspension. There is a place for both but for me, the ride quality with air is a revelation - forget Range-Rover. Two very different X5's purely from a suspension change.

Even though I got them purely for aesthetic reasons, I did notice that they have a little more bite than the brakes on my F15. However, I haven't driven a G05 without them so maybe there is less of a difference.
P.S. Leather dash is probably my favorite option. It just gives the car a more premium feel and works with new dash design on the passenger side so you don't have as much unbroken real estate. I originally didn't have it on my order, but I was convinced to add it after some serious peer pressure. Zero regrets. |

SCOTTMZ3, looks awesome. I’m waiting for my wk 48 in Mineral White, so painful. I’ll look for you on the roads. New to BMW and my first post here so be gentle.

Yes, I thought that the X3 had caught up with the X5 in terms of quality and options - then I had a chance to drive a G05 last night and it's been leapfrogged
The grille doesn't look as bad in person, but it is HUGE |

Can someone with the 50i post a clip so I can see how it sounds during start up? I hope the V8 sounds better than some recent ones BMW has made outside of their M5 Comp which sounds great.

I can assure you that the video does it zero justice. However, comparing it to the M5 Competition is setting the bar a bit high. Two completely different animals. Cold start: |
