Edit: I just noticed your post above and I think that is where you are misunderstanding the schedule. The G07 LCI has been scheduled to start 8/22 but you can't base anything for the G05 on that since its LCI has been scheduled to start production 4/23.

G07 X7
- In production until 11/27
- LCI in 08/22. Will get the refreshed B57, B58 and the new S68 engines. The lineup remains the same as now. All models will get the 48V system. The new dashboard is making an appearance.

G05 X5/G06 X6/F95 X5M/F96 X6M
- In production until 07/26 (G05, F95) and 03/27 (G06, F96)
- LCI in 04/23. Models likely almost the same as now, with X6 sDrive40i dropped at least in the US. Will get the refreshed B58 and the new S68 engines. M package becomes standard on X6. Ambient Air and Acoustic Glazing will be available; X5 will have the illuminated grill like X6 does now.
Perhaps ... I took it that BMW in spartanburg always has a changeover shutdown for all lines every year in summer. As Turtleboy says that may not be the case for X5 ... As an engineer it seems logical that they would need a shutdown to change robot programming etc. but they must have a way around it.

Wow! @TurtleBoy thanks for the information. It looks like the X5 pre LCI will be in production for a very long time. Much longer than I've expected.
So when the production of X6 is scheduled for? I am mostly interested in this model.

The X6 is the G06 mentioned in my post. Its LCI will also start 4/23 and its end of production is currently scheduled for 3/27.

So is the conclusion here that an update to the X5 won't be available until well into 2023 with the existing 2022 offerings being the only choice until then?

I hope not! My lease ends this June and would like the LCI.

Unfortunately you will have to make alternate plans since the LCI won't be until MY24.

My dealer told me LCI was in 2024, so I purchased a MY22 last November.

Dealers are often wrong.

They usually are but in this case I wonder why they would say that. Don’t they want to sell now? Unless the LCI is going to be really bad. Even so people tend to want to buy/wait to see the latest. In any case, anyone thinks like me… the front will resemble what’s on the X4?

His lease is up in June so he isn't buying now but rather thinking about buying it out and waiting until the LCI in MY24.

the mid sized luxury import SUV market is *the* hottest market segment there is. BMW, or any other manufacturer isn't bold enough to introduce a radical new design and risk losing the base of loyal customers like us they've painstakingly built up over time.

The day BMW starts copying those low rent Korean knock offs is the day I will tearfully search for another brand to earn my conquest discount.

yes, please! or at the very least, can we please have more two tone interiors? the x5 is their hottest selling model, I'm surprised they don't offer many more of the leather choices other models get in this vehicle.

Less vertical air curtain slats than the X3/4 M Sport/M40i and more prominent like current model and X7 M Sport/M50i.

We know that the F95 X5M will adopt the F96 grill.

I don't think the G06 LCI will be as extreme as the X3/4 LCI - more 8 Series refined LCI. But I could be wrong. Looking a the 8 LCI, gotta look really close for those tweaks.

Going to have to disagree with you there, lol. I think that GV80 is a really well designed car and the Korean cars are a lot better then folks give them credit for, the issue is that Genesis will always struggle so long that you have to buy them at a Hyundai dealer.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luc_Donckerwolke

Once they branch off like Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, Lincoln, etc. They'll do better.

Agreed. The designer for the latest Genesis SUVs is Luc Donckerwolke, his resume includes:

Audi R8 Le Mans Racer (2000)
Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0 (2001)
Lamborghini Murciélago (2002)
Lamborghini Gallardo (2004)
Bentley Flying Spur (2013)
Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 (2015)

He's done great stuff.

However they just lost him, I think it will be a major blow to that group.

April 2022 pricing is already on the German website, no facelift. Only extra new option i saw was the historical BMW amblem (white one). Everything "official" from this forum points out to April 2023 production (MY 2024) BUT why are there these LCI G05 mules everywhere in Jan 2022? It seems a very long time before the actual production date given its "only" an LCI and not a new model.

I would guess possibly testing larger battery for the PHEV, and then also a possible update to inside tech - such as the new screens and Idrive update.

They need a lot of road time as well. So it's less about exterior updates, and more interior and what we don't see.

I am told by my dealer no official news on LCI but M colors might be available at discount prices also for non m cars. Still more than one year for idrive testing seems excessive.

Interesting. I made the decision to go with 2022 thinking it would be another year for the refresh. But now I’m wondering if I should have just waited. They usually announce a few months before orders are available right?

Just ignore what you are reading, the LCI will be starting production in April of 23 as has been scheduled. Obviously anything can change but this is as of 1:00am this morning.
