G05 X5 M Sport at the BMW Championship (Pictures)
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com A few things that stood out: The grills! They are way too big in my opinion. They aren't quite vertical but appear to lean from top to bottom almost, which is misguided for my taste. I'm used to them leaning from bottom to top. The taillights are great! They have a 3D effect and great depth to them. Best part of the new design, followed by the headlights (pun not intended ). The rear-end looks a little fat to me. Almost like an old Touareg maybe? : It's big! I'm not used to an SAV but it was still a bruiser. I grabbed as many good pictures as I could (not many lol) given that it was up on a pedestal and behind a glass barrier. I wasn't able to see inside that much which I was really hoping to. I hope you enjoy! Moderator edit: Also added some photos from sighting at Nurburgring by @botist92.

This is why the x3 will continue to do so well. They nailed it with the x3 imo

I really wanted that grill to work, but it looks more silly in real life than in the renderings. They'll reconfigure it I'm sure with the LCI.

Meh. Throw some black grilles in. Will make it look better and more aggressive.

This is exactly what I was thinking. The black should tone down the largeness of the grills w/o costing too much.

I wanted to like this new G05 so I can trade my F15, but nay, front grill is too big and back is van-ish thing

I think it looks good. Still bmw but you can easily tell it's different from F15

Beautiful vehicle. I am confident everything BMW did to the X5 is for a very good reason. And those grills looked remarkably impressive on the X7 displayed at the Frankfurt IAA. I am really excited about the release of the new X5 M. I know it will be a truly wonderful automobile.

even bmw knows their owners tailgate so they made this look like it already rear ended someone

The g05 interior looks to be a step above 5 series and although not quite cayenne nice it's a step in the right direction. The exterior of the m sport x3 in carbon black is so nice and probably drivers better than x5 due to lower center of gravity as well.

I always liked the first original X5. This one looks more like the new boxy Volvo XC 90. The grill is absolutely hideous! It's not nearly aerodynamic enough, it's way too boxy for a BMW. I think it's exterior design is week, and that's being nice.

The front is really 90% grill. That's unbelievable. I hope it looks better in real life. The first NRing picture looks just pathetic imo.

I think the proportions are ok, if you look at the 1st and 3rd Picture. It is a large hood (and a large vehicle Overall) so I think it fits quite well.
Probably easier to like it for someone that is not coming from a F15 or older X5 (like me) I think the new X3 (G01) is not as nice as my current F25... |
