Heated/cooled cupholder for MY2021?

I did a search but didn't see anything. Since they've discontinued this option in MY2021 I was curious if it's possible to buy/install (and if the parts needed are available)? I would like to add it to a 2021 G06.

I think it’s part of the executive package from what I see in the ordering guide. Someone who knows more than me can correct me.

not available for 2021s at this time as you know, honestly it doesn't work as well as you think TBH. ITs cool no doubt but Im sure if you ask those who have it will agree its not that effective. prob would not be worth the hassle/money to retrofit even if you could.

Good point - probably not worth the cost/hassle in long run, but would have been a cool feature to have

I have it in mine. Honestly, it works better than you think. For example, I placed a can of Redbull that had been sitting in the kitchen pantry in the cup holder with the cold setting on, and I noticed that it was getting cooler and cooler every time I took a sip. I am pretty sure that it would have gotten cold had I left it in there longer. I have not tried the hot setting yet, but I am highly confident it will exceed my expectation. It is definitely a beneficial feature.

I think it provides a "moderate" benefit.

I've noticed it works much better on thin-walled plastic containers (like bottles of water)

Cans..... works a little bit. Generally, I'll be finished with whatever I'm drinking before I notice any change.

Thicker containers? Pointless.

Garage List
Double-walled insulated containers, nope. Metal containers, nope. Although you can still use it to hold your bottle/cup, just like a standard cup holder. Starbucks coffee cup, styrofoam cup, plastic water bottle, McDonald's coke cup, works great at retaining heat or cold. Worth it? I've used it more than I thought, and would miss it.

Just realized they did away with the soft close doors for 21 too.

Have to admit I am a little sad about cup holders and soft close but biggest disappointment is loss of night vision

Just realized that too when I picked up mine over the weekend.

I could careless about the cup cooling/heating.

I thought soft close would be included in executive package.
Since I ticked almost everything available.

I honestly rarely use them, but I would assume that has a lot to do with the climate you live in. Soft-close doors are a must though, very disappointed in that change and not to mention the glass volume knob folks are talking about in the forum.

Very surprised BMW has let this slip.

My wife has a 2019 X5 40i and I spent way too much time contemplating and building my 2021 X5 M50i. Somehow I didn't notice that the cupholder heating/cooling and soft close doors were eliminated. I was disappointed briefly but then returned to my honeymoon with this amazing vehicle.

My 2021 X5 , March production was equipped with the heated/cooled cupholder and with the soft close doors. They don't discontinued it, it's just part of the Premium Package or can be ordered separately depending on you configuration
