Just look at the underside and take an educated guess - that's what I did. From memory I think there were some indicated markings.

Can someone who has installed this lip share a close-up picture of their lower bumper where it meets the lip?

Questions:
1. Is there supposed to be any gap at the crease section? (see picture)
2. Is the tip of the bolts and nuts supposed to stick out and visible on the lower bumper (behind the black mesh grill)?

Would be interested in purchasing the full kit for my X7. Couple of questions to those who have installed it to their X5s
1. Seems to be quite cheap? What is the quality like and are they a close fit to the existing body work - front, rear and sides?
2. For those in the UK, do you have any recommended installers as I'm not keen to do it myself on a £90k car?
Thanks in advance.

I don't think so, I couldn't see mine but to be honest I did not look closely. My installer has OCD so guessing they may not be visible.

Just installed the Maxton front lip today, the answer to both questions is no.

Btw, you need to have a dremel handy, additional longer bolts are needed and extra washers.

Thanks for all the pics and suggestions on this thread. Ordered the lip Wednesday and it arrived today. All the same comments as above.

- arrives looking beat up but when you take the film off, its fine.

- instructions were pretty basic and not that helpful. Used all the tips here with the double sided tape and screws.

- 3M double sided tape was a lot stronger than I thought. I ended up doubling up on it because I wasn't too keen on screwing holes all over the bumper. I put a few screws in places that will hopefully be harder to see if I ever take it off.

- once I took the backing off the tape, I used the big pack of Costco Toilet paper in one of the pics to rest the lip on and just inched it towards bumper until I had it aligned. Worked like a charm. It was perfect height. [IMG][/IMG]

Can you send pics or links to the installation items you bought

Hello,
Do you happen to have instructions or any tips on how to remove the front bumper? I see you have it removed in the photo and I am currently trying to do so. Getting stuck on the take off part of it. I got all the screws out etc, but cannot unclip it on each of the sides.

You don't have to remove the front bumper but you have to use a Dremel to drill holes through your front lip.

Yep that I know. I just quoted that person because on his pic, his bumper was off, and I was trying to remove my bumper at the time of the post and was stuck, so figured I would ask for some guidance

Can anyone verify if the rear splitter can work with the integrated bumper tow receiver setup, possibly with some modification?

The vendor I emailed said "the splitter was designed for the bumper without the tow package that is built into the bumper, so there may be some interference in the center".

I don't want to assume it absolutely WON'T work. But obviously don't want to order it and it be impossible to make it fit.
