Someone from Canada reported the OTA today so it is rolling out there also.
Nice. I've been checking my App on occasion.

Yep. Had my car delivered with 07/2020.48 two weeks ago and yesterday got pushed an update to 07/2020.54. Went really well, no issues.

I was pleasantly surprised to get an update so soon after delivery.

Frustrating situation for me.

The car has downloaded the upgrade but I’m getting a message saying that I’ll be informed when it can be installed. Reading around, this may be an issue where the battery needs a good charge before the process starts (and I have only done very small journeys because of COVID). Just come back from a nearly 50 mile trip and still no joy.

1st world problems...

Try pushing the stop engine button while parked. In my case, that was needed to start the installation. Wouldn’t do it with engine running.

Thank you. Tried it but no dice. I have a sneaky suspicion I needed to drive a bit further. Don’t see that happening any time soon with the lockdown in place. Oh well.

I assume that requires an open sky, parked? I park in a carport and my house has a metal standing seam roof. Everything satelite goes blank when I drive into the carport.

Nope not required.

Simply download the software in your Connected Drive App on your phone, which is best done on a good/solid broadband wifi connection, then it can be transferred to your car also via local wifi. It's a lot faster and efficient that way.

This latest update (07/2020.54) is 1.6GB in size, so best done over wifi.

Yep I also had the same issue yesterday when I got the update, like you I don't to the mileage anymore thanks to CV19. I put my car on my NOCO AGM battery charger for around 2-3 hours, then started the engine, turned-off and bang got the option to upgrade immediately. once started, the upgrade takes around 20 minutes.

It also swipes all coding, everything got reset to default - so be prepared to re-code all your custom stuff enabled via coding. I spent around 30 mins afterwards coding ADV, ASS memory, 5-flash signal turn option, default driving mode to Adaptive, re-enabling Sports Plus mode, and turning off those warnings at startup.

Looks like I may invest in a battery charger because I’ll be doing minimal miles for the time being. Thanks.

Both. When I noticed it in my car I checked my phone and had a notification from the app there as well.

How do us 45e owners, who can’t charge our batteries, do the upgrade? Is a fully charged battery required?

I am having same issue, don't have a battery charger, not sure how long I need to drive to charge my battery so as to get rid of this warning.

Can someone please confirm that the roadside parking lights (left and right) are working? They seem to be disabled with the new update and maybe require coding to bring them back on.

I'll check when I update my car. Probably tomorrow.

Coding should not be required as this is already a part of the default configuration unless BMW decided to disable it or there's another bug. Either of which is possible knowing how many bugs seem to get introduced with BMW updates.

Not sure how long you will have to drive around, but I remember reading in another thread some time back the battery needs to be @ 60% charge.

I think if you go for a long drive, 50-60 minutes at least - that should probably do the trick....

I'm not sure if it's necessary, but you can charge the high-voltage battery by driving in battery control mode.
