2022 X6M Competition surging forward when stopping. Lemon?
Anyone else out there experiencing this? When coming to a stop, applying brake (no gas) the car comes to a stop for a millisecond, then the engine restarts (starter) or the computer adds gas to keep it from stalling and forces the car forward. I've taken it to two dealerships, and had BMW North America's engineers take a look. They all tell me everything is operating as intended. I've taken several videos and sent them to the dealer/BMW North America of the car lunging forward when coming to a stop, and they are denying anything is wrong. BMW is refusing to do anything to correct the situation, even though I've warned them that the vehicle's behavior is highly unsafe.
I'm a mechanical engineer that has worked in the auto industry, and races cars in my free time. I have built cars my entire life. I've NEVER seen a car behave in this manner. I've filed a report with NHSTA, BBB, and the Colorado Attorney General requesting assistance, and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue? I've sent in a certified notice of defect to comply with CO lemon laws, and will likely have to hire an attorney to resolve the matter. I've owned a handful of BMWs in my life, but as of lately it seems BMW NA really has stopped caring about their end users, and their safety. If anyone else is having issues, let me know. Perhaps with a few unified voices we can get them to fix this before it causes an accident/hurts a pedestrian. |

Nope. Never experienced this. Try driving with auto stop/start disabled.

Really? My 2022 x5m has been off and stays off. I believe this is the same behavior as the other f95/96 cars here, unlike the G05 which does not save the auto start stop setting.

Even when it restarts, it certainly should not be surging noticeably. |

Selecting sport or sport plus should turn off the auto stop/start. But yes you must do it every time you start the car. Not sure but I think it can be coded off?

My 2022 X5M Comp remembers the last setting for auto star-stop.

Can you post the video?
Are you lifting off the brake? Sounds strange that multiple people have told you it's working as intended. Had the car behaved like what you described with other people at the wheel?

Just push the button on the console to off. Mine has been off for 3 months with just one push. It does not reset. Off is off in the USA.

Same here. 2019 X6M and 2022 X6M. I shut it off day one.

I don't see any options in my menu settings that addresses Auto Stop/Start at all. I just rely on my car remembering the last setting, which is always to disable, when I start my car.
I do see an option for this in the Bimmercode app. I wonder if that puts the option in the menu settings. Hmmm. Otherwise, I'm just missing it. |

I'm relatively new to the forms and am unsure as to how to upload a video of the issue. I am not lifting off the brake pedal when it surges forward.
