Hyundai and Genisis have really upped their game. For example, the Palisade has a gorgeous interior for its price point. Genisis is outstanding. I saw a burgundy and green interior. WOW.

A guy in our high rise bought himself one of those awful G90s and calls it a Korean Mercedes. Pretty laughable watching a clown like this trying to play keep up with the Jones as there are many S-Class MB in the buildings garage. These cars just plain suck: Ugly and very cheesy looking, "Korean Mercedes" indeed. |

Show me what other vehicle has those options, build quality, style and luxury in that price range.

^ I would suggest that you may want to take an afternoon and experience one for yourself. I think you will learn a lot in regards to the quality of materials they use and the quality of vehicle they are producing. In many areas they are on par, or even ahead, of the Germans. While I will likely stick to BMW for a number of reasons there certainly is no shame for anyone getting a Genesis over a German brand.

I'm sure some people are happy with their Korean cars but you don't get gold for the price of silver. |

I've sat in an ATS, CTS, last gen Escalade, and XLR; sitting in each of those revealed dated and hard to use infotainment, hard plastics littered throughout the cabin, cheap GM fonts, and parts bin sharing from the lowest end GM models. What Genesis has done over just a handful of years is remarkable. They've hired away designers from top luxury brands, upped their marketing spend, invested in quality control, and are now putting out vehicles that compete in almost every way with established top tier brands, trading brand image and high-end performance for value. I'm all for fanboy-ing over the BMW in any comparison with another brand, but I think it's equally important to give other brands credit where credit is due. Lastly, in terms of gold for the price of silver, I'd say that cuts both ways. Compare the new 2 Series Gran Coupe to a G70, and you'd be hard pressed to pick the BMW in any category except brand prestige. |

The 2021 Escalade is better than anything Genesis has put forward, including the 2021 G/V80. If Cadillac can update their entire fleet with what they did for the 2021 Escalade they will become great again.

Speedyman was banned quite awhile ago (twice actually). When Scungillo showed up I thought maybe he came back yet again.

I like my X5 a lot but I am concerned about reliability post warranty. The Koreans are confident enough to provide a 10/100 drivetrain warranty. BMW wants thousands to extend beyond 4/50.

The 10/100K warranty really started as something to get buyers interested in the brand - it was a key differentiator. It still is, so it isn't really a show of confidence. Lots of engine issues plague various models. The dealership/service experience is one of the worst in the industry as well. I think this is why Hyundai (parent co.) has decided to go all into EVs, with no new development of ICE technology. Hyundai has a real opportunity to lead the EV market, especially with the Japanese brands, the historic hallmarks of quality and reliability, completely and utterly dropping the ball on BEV. |
