Used X5
Hi All, I'm looking at buying a used x5 from a bmw dealer. The car is only 2 years old but has over 4 previous owners. Should I avoid it, or can I use this to my advantage and haggle ? Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I would avoid it but I guess if the discount is big enough it may be worth you taking a chance on it.

I wouldn’t. This is a screaming red flag.
Make friends with a BMW sales person to find you a low mileage X5 coming in off a lease. Lots of them since the pandemic.

I'd check it out a bit more thoroughly, but it would not be a total turn off. The number of owners isn't always what it seems. Sometimes people move and it gets registered in a new state and that shows up as an owner. Sometimes a dealer buys the car and they show up as an owner. Sometimes people realize the X5 is too small for them, or they should have gotten the other engine, or the dealer tries to charge them $2k for an oil change ge and they trade it quickly.
If it's priced right and the vehicle checks out, I wouldn't be turned off by it, especially if you plan to keep it a long time. I would just check it over very thoroughly. Is it CPO by BMW or anything? |

What model and year is it? What's the mileage? Have you run a carfax and autocheck report yet? There are many reasons why a car will turnover in a rather short period of time so get the facts first.
