I just ordered a 2024 M sport LCI but without the extended shadowline trim. Is it safe to assume that a a pre LCI black grille will not fit? Could be a while before the new version would be available.

I also have the 2024 M Sport on order without the M Sport Pro pack containing extended shadowline trim, the only item of which I really wanted is the black grille, not anything else in the pack, especially not the 21” 741 M or 22” 742 M wheels that are compulsorily included in the pack in the UK (at total pack cost of £2,100 or £3,200 respectively) neither of those wheel styles having appealed to me, and so ordered just with 20” 740 M wheels standard for M Sport. Dealer is in the process of finding out for me what options there would be for replacing the chrome/anodised grille the car comes with absent the M Sport Pro Pack, with a black grille. I thought the Iconic Glow Kidney Grille included in the M Sport Pro pack would be available as a retrofit kit, as presumably would include the black chrome kidney frame and struts but it seems not as yet. I wouldn’t mind having the iconic glow provided I could turn it off. Failing that I assumed the black frame and struts would simply be available as a replacement part but so far the dealer’s parts department have not been able to confirm that. Will post again if I get any more information.

The iconic glow requires wiring in the car that isn't present if the car wasn't spec'd with it from new.

The X6 has had iconic glow as an option since release in 2020 and there is no BMW retrofit for it. But there is an official retrofit for the G30 5 series, so maybe they will do one for the G05 as there is a larger potential customer base.

Sorry for delay in coming back - no, didn’t get anywhere with it. Was only offered aftermarket replacement black grille which I didn’t want. Because of that and other aspects of the build that I came to realise I was not really satisfied with, as well as the difficulty and confusion surrounding OS 8.5, decided to cancel. Planning to order again early next year, with M Sport Pro pack as includes the extended shadowline trim with the black grille, and with 22” 742 M wheels in jet black as have now become available in the UK as an alternative to the bicolour 22” 742 M or 21” 741 M neither of which I was keen on.

I’ve got a 2024 on the way as well and opted not to go with M Sport pro pack as I didn’t care for any of the other features either. My 2019 didn’t have the black grill but I did get it “dipped” locally and it looked awesome. Will do the exact same thing with the 2024.

I actually like the M60i grill, silver surrounds but black slats/innards. Any idea if this can be installed on a 40i/50e? Not sure which grills are active (all but M60i?) and probably depends on illumination options. Maybe an easier way to get a silver surround on a 40i/50e M Sport Pro grill.

I have had my LCi's grille changed to the matt black one by my dealer in September 2023 (got delivery end July)

I recall reading on this forum that they are not interchangeable because slot for the front camera is a different size. I can't find the thread though

I had precious 2022 X5 with black aftermarket grill. I recently got a 2024 X5 and the camera box is to big. Does anyone have the link that isn’t IND? Don’t want to spend $400 bucks for replacement grill
