In France and Germany it is not allowed to show the a act location but it is allowed to define a danger zone of 300 meters.

I Think in Belgium it is still allowed.

Best for detecting speed cameras was the Coyote app on IPhone. It warns for danger zones because you can't call them radars. It works really well it is community based. I think it was around 60 euro a year for subscription. I don't use it anymore and took it of my phone. It is illegal to even have this is your phone in Germany en Switzerland. Don't know about other European countries.
I’ve always used the Cyclops iPhone app for years which is brilliant and provides aural warnings of all types of traffic cameras in the U.K. via the car’s sound system. However, I have also installed the BMW Speed Camera Information app to my U.K. M340i as a back up in case I forget to switch the Cyclops app on (which I often do for short local journeys).

Speed camera detectors and apps have always beenfully legal in the U.K.

You were able to buy it with your US account.

Wild guess, but probably there is no European data available so the app is working but has no local data.

I hope they will get it.

Would be nice to know if you have it functional that means it will soon be available for us to.
I’ve bought it for my U.K. spec. M340i although my Cyclops iPhone app works better because it provides audible alerts via the car’s sound system.

Looking into this app as I will be getting my G05 this or next week. Does this use crowdsourced data for old fashioned speed traps (i.e. police hiding with radar/laser detection gun)? There aren't many, if any, camera based speed traps in these parts. I usually rely on waze but often forget to turn it on. Perhaps a proper detector will be in my future, but I stopped using my old one because all the cars around me with driver assistance kept setting it off. Also, I am not sure but I think most of the LEO's in New England have switched to laser based guns but I would not even know where to check and verify that. A trip to my local auto sound place that sells these things may be in order. I just don't see myself driving slow in the M50i....

It has been enabled for UK and costs £20 per year.
I have tried it in my local area and it detected all cameras I know so it's pretty good.
It does not need active route guidance in navigation which I first I thought it needs and it does not include cameras from opposite side.

Anyone know why my option is greyed out? And if the connected drive store is down?

Garage List
2020 BMW M340  [0.00]
john1200c ,

I've had traffic camera activated for a little over 6 months and am quite disappointed with it so far.

First and foremost, it has only alerted me to a few red light cameras-- not all that I've driven by either. At first, I thought maybe it's due to radar detectors being illegal to use here, but have had the same problem in other states. I think it's due to the data BMW draws from (think it's HERE database?)

Additionally, the icon that appears is a white background clunky rectangle that will only show up in Instrument cluster & not in HUD

Bottom line: while inexpensive, a long run for a short side!

Thanks for the info. I may try it for a year and see if it does me any good. But I will likely go the radar detector route coupled with Waze in the background. It very expensive to get a ticket here in MA with the insurance surcharges (6 years I believe) that go on top of the ticket....

I subscribed to the service today and after about an hour I was up and running. I just have one query, is it possible to get audible alerts in addition to the visible pop-ups?

Hi, daft question I know, but I’m assuming you saw the option on Connected Drive? I’m in the uk too but don’t see Camera Info as an option to purchase fro some reason.

I've never managed to get the Camera Warnings to appear in my HUD, but having followed advice on another thread I deleted my Profile in the car and recreated it (and linked it back to my Connected Drive account).

So far I finally have it working in the HUD. It was a slight pain losing some settings but worthwhile to resolve this.

I own a 2021 M2351. It was manufactured after July 2021, (September to be exact). My vehicle has the Live Cockpit Pro (6U3) option. I am unable to subscribe to this service. Anyone know what models are excluded from having this?
