I only had it for a day so I didn't spend a whole lot of time looking at it. However, it could have been under "Automate Habits" and then Climate Control Rules. I can't remember exactly now. But it did have passenger climate control rules which previous versions didn't.
My brother got the update yesterday and he has the Climate Rules and not Automate Habits, perhaps they got rid of AH. He no longer has steering wheel heating anymore though, hopefully it comes back.

Interesting. The 2021 X5 loaner I was driving had the steering wheel heating.

I can see release notes for 2020.11 on bmw-connecteddrive online but I no longer have Upgrade software option in my ConnectedDrive app on phone, just wondering how I will be able to upgrade to 2020.11?

You can side load the my bmw app if you are on Android. It works in Au. It is still showing no updates though.

Alternatively you can check for updates on the settings menu in the vehicle.

No, it is not there. It is not in the android play store either. I downloaded the apk from an app website and sideloaded it. It works well despite not being officially released here. Unfortunately I do not know if you can sideload an app on an iphone instead of going through the official app store.

I know how to get it back, but you might not like it.

Reset in iDrive settings, but you will lose seat position, hard button favourites, and will need to reset all other config.

Updated to 11/2020.50 today - Midwest. Have no idea what it actually did because I just briefly checked settings, but nothing seems to be changed. It did temporarily disable "lock when leaving," but that seems restored, and no settings changed as far as I can tell (Automate Habits is still there in Personal Assistant, which includes the Automate Window function). An app showed up: LapTimer for M (on my 40i), which I believe is essentially a stopwatch. Haven't driven it post-update, but if I run across anything I'll report back. What I do know is that it took well over 2 hours to "prepare" for the install, which required running the car, and about 20 minutes for the install, which was parked and off. The update info did recommend installing at home, in a place accessible to a tow - flat level area (an excellent suggestion IMO, from my experience with other OTAs).

*Addendum, per @TurtleBoy, it appears that steering wheel heating is in fact gone from Climate Rules.

Thanks, I will pass that along to him. If it was me I would just hold out for it to be fixed in a future update or by dumb luck.

I was out driving today and went to Settings and checked for updates. Voila! It said I had an update and it started downloading 11/2020.50. I was out driving for around 45 minutes and it actually got 73% of it downloaded before I got home.

I downloaded to my iPhone once I was back on Wi-Fi and finished the upload to my X6 tonight.

Honestly, not sure I'm going to do the update, since it sounds like it's deleting the Heated Steering Wheel from the Climate Rules...I really like that coming on automatically. Doesn't sound like it's changing/fixing anything else, other than adding the M Laptimer app. Maybe I'll at least wait until it warms up a bit more!

Does it bring back the tach "meter" to HUD in Sport Mode? (When set to Automatic.)

I got my update (2) days ago. I have not noticed any differences yet. I will have to search the forum to see what to look for. The release notes did not say much.

For missing Automated steering wheel heating after upgrade,... Try deleting all profiles and re-add them without restoring previous settings. It worked for me! Now have my Automated steering wheel heating back.

Clarifier...based upon how you described it, you then had to reconfigure all of your various settings? (Or did you get them back when you pulled your profile down from ConnectedDrive?)

I think you will lose your seat settings, favorite button settings and possible some others depending on what you have done.

Might be moving up from an X3, so does a 2021 BMW X5 xDrive40i (and 2020 BMW X5 xDrive40i for that matter) can received OTA updates?
