Well it’s a sad day for me. I ordered my first custom order x5, after many other BMWs, 2 x5s and a 335i. Seems like I got a bad one. Looking for some feedback on process and current suggested steps I should take.
Essentially I orders a x5 50e M sport with premium and m sport pro w/ massage seats 87k msrp. Since I got the car I keep getting a chassis error and it bricks the air suspension, the massage seat on driver side makes weird noises and the VidMate illuminated kidney grill lights up on one side and now I have a check engine light as well. Taken to service once only for the the errors to come back and now it’s back there again. Had the car for 3 weeks and only drove it 1 week since it’s been in my name. Looking for feedback as to what I could do with Lemmon laws and exchanging. I’m in Illinois but bought the car in Missouri. Last edited by indio99; 08-16-2023 at 09:22 AM.. |

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately the Illinois lemon law will not come into play since the vehicle had to be purchased in Illinois to qualify. You can see if Missouri's would cover you but likely not. Even putting that aside you likely don't meet the time requirements for a Lemon but make sure you are keeping detailed records as to when it went into for service, the issue, the outcome and when it was returned.
Contact BMWNA and have them open a case. If yours isn't repaired in a reasonable amount of time you may be able to get a buyback. You will also want to make sure you keep an open line of communication with the service director/manager since it will help to have him/her lobby for you with BMW should it come to that. Keep us updated on how things are going.

I have been on and following this group for about 2 years and it really feels like the 50e is getting more than its fair share of issues. I know people are more likely to report when there is an issue but this feels different….?
