I've used it a few times when at my sister's place as the thing could sit overnight.

I have both 20A 120 and 240 available in my garage, so it could be used to max the 45e's charging if my Clipper Creek unit decided to go south. Much nicer than the 10A, 120vac only unit that came with mine.

You'd have to go back about 150-years to find why the US went with 120-vac versus the 220-240 most of the rest of the world chose. We're not changing!
Because they’re cheaper to wire a house

An EVSE is a fancy power cord...the actual charging circuits are IN the vehicle, at least when using ACV. The X5 doesn't currently support fast DC charging where the power supply is external.

BTW, I bought the Zencar unit with a 5-15 plug, and have been using it for a few days. It's worked well, so far, and definitely took hours - about 6 - out of the charge time from 0-100%. It and the cord do get a little warm - 45*C(ommie), which translates to 113* 'Merican. That doesn't seem bad, in a garage that's 70-80*.

Thanks for the suggestion!!
