Phone does not connect occasionally

Hi. Lately, my phone started failing to reconnect occasionally when I get in. Restarting the car or even the idrive does not help. I have to delete and pair the phone again. It happened 20% of the time this week. I thought it happens when i use remote start, but it can also happen under normal circumstances. I have a galaxy Note 8. Any suggestions are appreciated

Are you running Pie on the Note 8???? If so, that is what it is. Upgrading to Pie on my Note 8 took a flawless phone and gave it a spotty WIFI and Bluetooth connections. It’s a known issue with android.

It says version 9 so I guess it is Pie. Maybe the next update will make it better (or worse)

It’s the phone. What I did that helped was to go in and erase the WiFi and Bluetooth info from the phone and reconnected every thing again. It helped a little. Do a google search on the android Pie WiFi/Bluetooth problem. It’s well documented.

I also experience disconnect/not connecting issue. What kind of helped me is:
connect the phone with iDrive only (not a Carplay). In this configuration it is connecting/working fine. I decided that when I would need Carplay (basically only when I want to use Waze for navigation), then I can switch to Carplay.

I have had this happen on different vehicle makes, every time it has been because wifi was on. Try turning wifi off (leave bluetooth on) and see if that cures it. This should be something they can easily fix with a software update if that is the problem.
