How to reduce strength of steering assist (for lane keep)
Is there a way to reduce the strength with which the wheel turns to move you back into your lane?
I have vibration strength on high, but the vibration is not the issue. It is that the car torques the wheel really hard to go back into the lane, and you really have to fight with it if you don’t want to go back (like if you forgot to signal and cross a dotted line). At high speeds it is almost dangerous how aggressively the car turns. I’ve used a similar system in a GMC Yukon and it will correct you gently but it is easy to push through it if you want. Thanks! |

Set the lane departure warning to early (not late); it makes a world of difference in aggressiveness of steering intervention. If the intervention still bothers you, disable it.

I have. ‘Late’ made steering intervention so aggressive it was jarring and treacherous in wet/slippery conditions. Switching to ‘early’ made the intervention reasonable (and similar to other vehicles with this feature).
