M50i pulls away hard from Macan GTS

I was merging onto freeway on ramp..type that had 2 lanes merging then paralleling before dumping onto freeway. The Macan GTS and my M50i arrived at same time. I pulled away fast and he tried to overtake but was not able...I think I saw his face in side mirror was look of shock...anyway was very impressed with my X5 today.

Not surprised, the M50i performance is closer to the Macan Turbo (X5 4.1 VS Macan turbo 4.3 0-60)
We also have a V8 so that’ll help highway speed

on this site you can see performace compared between Macan GTS and 50i F15 (there is no 50i G05).
As you can see even the f15 is way ahead then the macan, so imagine how faster is G05 (talking about the strait line)

Macan GTS /S both do the 1/4 in about 13.6 seconds. I believe the new ones go about 13.3.

M50i X5 does the 1/4 in the low 12s to mid 12s.

For comparison it is almost like the M3 going up against the 340i.

Your car is almost M3 fast. You are going to beat a lot of cars merging onto the highway.

X3 M40i is faster than a Macan S/GTS. Not surprising.

I had a similar experience with a kid in a new Mustang GT on i95 south going to Florida with the family. He came up on my tail in the left hand lane with my 50i ACC locked at 88mph.
I put it in Sport+ and mashed the go pedal. I took off so fast to 120mph from 88mph, the V8TT exhaust barked and it was all over. He was going to try to follow but gave up after 2 seconds. My family SUV loaded up with enough bags for a 2 week trip was more than he wanted to mess with.

I also got in a left lane pack from Orlando to Daytona that really was really moving. A Hellcat, M4 and my 50i. I was right there with them in acceleration. It was a safe environment for quick controlled sudden accelerations of each car to show what they had. The X5 50i stood tall. It’s fast for a performance car, let alone a big SUV.

Now I have a new plate. We will see on this years trip.
