Manual Trunk Release and How to put in neutral?

Got back home from after 2 weeks and the car battery is dead, waiting to get a boost. In the meantime, i'm wondering, how the heck do you put the car in neutral so i can get it out of the garage? And where is the manual trunk release?

Not sure about the tailgate but here is the answer for selecting Neutral. No idea how you do this if it's completely dead.

Attached PDF is what you have to do to unlock transmission when you have dead batteries. You’re not going to like it (i.e. another bit of unbelievable idiocy of modern BMW design).

It is much much much much simpler to put your car on a maintenance charger or charge battery some other way than trying to get it into neutral with a (completely) dead battery. Heck, it is simpler to just replace the battery.

More practically, a portable booster would work as well.

2 weeks?
Something is not right.

This car is smart enough to go into deep sleep to conserve the battery.

I have left my F15 X5, F10 5-series, F06 650GC, i3, G30 5-series away for a month, came back and it start right up.

The easiest way is to call your BMW Dealer to deal with it.
That's why you pay a premium on this car. They should come to either fix it or tow it to the dealer.

On the side note, trunk release wise, you will need to climb into the trunk and use the emergency trunk release.
The glow in the dark tri-angle.

Just make sure you don't step over the body in the trunk.

Late reply..
I called roadside assistance from BMW and had CAA shpw up to give me a boost within an hour.

Back to the issue of the battery drain in the first place, the only suspect is the dashcam that is hardwired into to fusebox. However, it is suppose to cut off the power after 12 hours (blackvue). I suspect that this did not happen and the reason for the battery being dead.

r33_RGSport, there is no manual release in the trunk that I could find, unlike the pervious gen BMWs.
