This is one thing that worries me about owning a BMW. I have had the drive train malfunction occur THREE times on my F10. In one case, the car was crippled to low speed in the middle of a highway. I managed to pull it to the side of the road without getting rear ended. Two times it had to do with fuel injection pumps, and one time it was the starter motor.

I previously owned a f15 30d and never had that happened I called BMW roadside assistance and they reckon that my roadside assistance expired in 2017 for my G05 X5 I tried to explain to them the car was only built in February of 2019 so it's impossible for the roadside assistance to be expired! Long story short the vehicle got towed away this morning to the dealership, still yet to hear what the dealership has found. Last edited by jamesbaker1998; 05-07-2019 at 01:39 AM.. |

Software update? Complete and utter BS. No software update would cause the car to jerk in that manner. I had a very similar issue in my '14 X5 50i, with the exact same fault and side effects and what I found out is that it's a very common issue with the V8s.

1st time was a cracked air intake tube (induction charge pipe) 2nd Time was a faulty VTG motor on the transfer case 3rd time was a malfunctioning mass air flow meter 4th time was another cracked indiction charge pipe The first one took 3 weeks to fix waiting for a part from Germany. All others were a couple of day fixes. In every instance except #3 they updated the car Transmission control unit (TCU) and DME software, but then it was the first model year for the F25 so they had lots to fix in software everywhere. Good luck! |
