Possibly one of the doors was open or someone inside the vehicle? That button doesn't work when the car finds it can't lock all doors (like when one is open)

The tailgate lock feature disables if it detects the key is in the car (as well as if any of the doors are open), so I think if you have your key with you it might think the keys are inside, and so wont work.

X5 45e Comfort Access

Hi, we just got our X5 45e and setup Comfort Access. We set up each driver's seat and mirrors and I think it greets us by our names when we use regular key fob. But I think it retains the previous driver if we enter the vehicle without using the key fob ( Auto lock/unlock ). Is this by design or bug?

The profile that is maintained (or remembered) is the last profile used. So if you were driving and turned the vehicle off...and did NOT lock the vehicle when you left...the next person that goes to the car will be greeted with your profile since it was the last remote that communicated with the vehicle (with a type of "handshake").

If you LOCKED the vehicle...and someone else came back to the car...whether they used the remote to unlock the doors, or used CA (comfort access)...the vehicle should respond to their profile since it would be the last remote that communicated with the vehicle ("handshake"). The CA system has aerials that pick up the remote fob when in close proximity...so if you use CA to unlock the vehicle or if you manually use the remote fob to unlock the vehicle...that will be the last remote that communicated with the vehicle.

That's how I'm looking at it.

X5 45e Comfort Access

I can understand that but when I walk away without locking it ( Auto Lock ) and someone else walks in without unlocking it ( Auto Unlock ), I was expecting that the car will recognize the new key fob and greet with right profile. But as you said, it does remember the last person who walked away not recognizing the new person walked in with her key fob.
Does this make sense?

Maybe it is, you didn't "log out" your profile, like with a computer.

If you’re worried about locking all the doors while closing the hatch, there is a lock and close button right next to the close hatch button. Also the walk away lock feature is annoying when working around the vehicle as it will constantly lock and unlock. I set mine for unlock on approach and just touch the ribs in the door handle to lock before walking away.

Initial Screen Change

Does someone know how to change the screen when you walk into the cockpit of X5? Mine always says Note Application saying I can only use it while not driving. It changes when I push start/stop button but I'd rather have a Map or Nav with welcome XXX than one line NOTE screen..

Cheers!

That is a great analogy...if the prior driver doesn't lock the car (log off)...then their profile is still logged in. So if two people with two different remotes use the same vehicle...if the last driver doesn't LOCK the vehicle...or if the new driver doesn't activate their remote (there's no "handshake" by just walking up to the vehicle)...then the previous provile is still "LOGGED IN".

The new driver and new remote needs to "LOG IN" in order for their profile to become the default profile. If there wasn't this "handshake" or "log in" taking place...then what protocol would it be when both of you (with both remotes) are coming to the car. Which profile would it activate when both profiles are in proximity to the vehicle? It appears that the protocol is to go with the last remote that was "logged in".

What happens (regardless if the car is locked or unlocked) if whoever is going to be driving the car would press the UNLOCK button on their remote. See if this is enough of a "handshake" (log in) for that remote to become the default remote.

The one line warning message that comes up at unlock/startup can be coded off via Bimmercode.

i have turned on the CA with my blade key FOB and it only locks when walking away from the vehicle but somehow doesn't unlock it when walking back towards the car, even when walking directly towards the drivers door.
doesn't look like this could be a sensor issue since its still locking when walking away..
wondering if anyone faced a similar issue

I just picked up a 2022 and am new to comfort access.

I have Auto Unlock enabled, but it only unlocks the driver's side door. If I walk near the rear passenger door, it doesn't unlock. Is this how it's supposed to work?

Check your settings, sounds like you have the option of only the Driver's door being unlocked rather than all doors.

BMW app on cellphone

My BMW X5 45e was always responding to my cellphone app. Now, I left the car in another state 2 months ago and all was fine. All of a sudden on 9/27 vehicle stop responding and I can not connect to my car. It does not update the status only saying last updated status was on 9/27. Horn, lock, lights, nothing works. I am not even sure it's still there. Is there anything I ( or BMW dealer ) can do to track down the car location?

In order to save battery some vehicles will shut down remote access, perhaps the X5 does this also.

there were recent data privacy updates that were pushed to vehicles. I recall one in September around that time. When this happens, I noticed the settings go back to the default NO SERVICE. at this setting, I don't get any status updates from the MyBMW server, and i can't remote view either until I select ALL SERVICES.

recently, I'm somewhat in the same boat as you as my vehicle is at the dealership for a recall resolution, and it stopped updating its status on 10/21 which coincided with a data privacy update on the 2-series they loaned me. I'm betting the data privacy notification on my vehicle that's in the shop reverted back to default NO SERVICES again.

Worse case scenario! I did that in a previous car, and the couch was moderately comfy to sleep on that night....
If you lock the car then lock it a second time it disables the interior motion detection. I think the red mirror light also blinks.

That makes sense and hope that's what it is. I thought maybe something terrible might have happened to my car.

I enabled Auto Unlock on my 2022 X6 and it seems to disable the digital key functionality via apple wallet or keycard. Soon as I disable the setting digital key works again. Is this intended behavior?

There are serious issues with the comfort features. The electrical on the G05 has a lot of flaws. Have any one else faced voltage fluctuation errors in your car. This is a big cause of a lot of electrical issues in GO5
