Just contacted my dealer and made an appt to get the update, they validated 2019 VIN and validated that the updated is available for it, I had to make up some BS story of system faults / things not working versus I just want AA otherwise no Appt - that is BS, but easy enough to get around it, what do they think we are dumb and can't play the game!!!

Do I really need to visit the dealer to get the update? This is so lame. I called my dealer and they said they'd need to take the car in for 2-3 hours to install the update. I thought that over-the-air updates were meant to be done remotely directly from the car without visiting the dealer. I'm pissed off!

This is some old info that I read.

A compatible phone: Your Android phone needs to be running Android 8.0 Oreo or newer if it's a Pixel phone or the Nexus 5X or 6P. The Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, S9/S9+, S10/S10+, and the Note 8/9/10 phones all support Android Audio Wireless if they're running Android 9.0 Pie or higher.

Yes you are correct, in the HUD Google is "turn by turn" with road names versus BMW navigations with a more detailed map projection with turns and lane guidance. I suspect Google will be able to enhance it's projected information in the future maps updates.

I tried to run both and started with BMW Nav to have a best of both options but once you start Google maps it over rides and cancels out the BMW Nav, still nice to have the a simple version of Google in the HUD.

No, only Apple Maps on iPhone will show directions in the HUD or IC.

My dealer in Spain told me that the 2020/7 update is not available yet in our country, does anyone know when it will be available??

Make sure to see if they are going to charge you $$. Some dealers will do the update for free, some you have to gripe to get it for free and other are stating that it is an upgrade you have to pay for unless there are other fault codes that require service and software updates. Mine originally wanted $200, but in the end did not charge me.

The Android auto on my P30 pro is now working perfectly with my X5.
It had a rough start tho, cuz its kinda buggy at the start while trying estalishing connection. I googled it and people mentioning opening AA with developer options, and select the "Add wireless projection to setting", it worked. Altho it is kinda buggy and took couple try, but eventually its working perfectly.

I can only find a very limited number of users in a German G20 forum that received it, the vast majority +90% have not.

At this pace, it will arrive somewhere around 2024.

Got 07/2020.54 yesterday, just a few hours after receiving my car.

Thank you, this helped me a bit further (pairing succeeded, I believe). Now I'm in a loop where my 6T keeps trying to connect to the WIFI hotspot of the car, then notices that Internet access does not work, drops the WIFI, reconnects etc. At the same time, Android Auto is trying to do its thing.

What am I supposed to do with the car WIFI, anyway? AA needs WIFI, right?
