This should be a easy program fix as the hardware is all there.
The problem is that this feature is shown working and included on all new G05 2019 X5 models in the Insurance Institute Safety test. This is how the X5 received a five star rating.
BMW either knowingly sent the Institute a rigged vehicle to pass the test or BMW purposely won't address this issue and is quietly hoping to implement it in a firmware fix. This is where BMW is one tragic incident away from a public image nightmare.

We all agree the driver is ultimately responsible but you can't falsely claim safety features in a vehicle that are not there or do not work.
If true BMWNA should be ashamed and embarrassed.
Only lawyers appear to be able to make people and companies ashamed and embarrassed these days.
