Automatic parking camera activation based on location

Apologies if this is posted somewhere but I had trouble finding any info on it. I thought at one point I had heard that you can program the surround view cameras and parking assistant to automatically engage once you've arrived at a preset destination (i.e. my work parking lot, or my garage at home, etc).

I can't seem to find this option anywhere. Am I just imagining things or does this exist?

That's actually what I was hoping for.... but not sure you can. Not quite sure why BMW wouldn't allow for that as I find the top view much more useful for pulling into parking spots/tight garage space.

On mine it only displays the Panorama View (07/2019.53).

Seems like that's the only option for this feature. Kind of puzzling, but I suppose it's better than not having the feature at all.

Agree - it takes the Nav off and gives you a wide view of what you're approaching in addition to your out-the-windshield view, and you can store multiple locations. I've actually found it handy, and the camera view does switch to the overhead front view when you get close enough, although it would be nice to be able to configure this option to the view you want. Maybe later coding.

The concept is to provide visibility when you are pulling out of a junction with poor sight lines. The front cameras provide a view from a position several feet in front of the driver.

Correct. You have to remember that this was designed and implemented how BMW wanted it, not how you wanted it. That goes for a lot of other tech in the car as well.

Totally agreed. Was just wondering if it worked in the way that I wanted it, and then subsequently complaining that it didn't
