I ask because when building my next X6MC on the configurator, I'm really struggling with making a final decision on MBB or tanzanite and I think the severity of the contrasting blues will help me settle on an exterior color.

Thanks in advance!
I was having exactly the same dilemma - but my wife instantly solved that for me - as soon as she saw an MBB car she said no way its way too bright! We will be receiving a Tanzanite Car shortly... Not under the thumb or anything...
I get it.

MBB is a very beautiful blue... but possibly a bit too "bright / attention grabbing" for me as daily driver of such a large car.

I remember when I first saw tanzanite on an M6 back in 2013, I wanted that color on a car so badly, lol.

I guess I'm maturing over the past 7 years, but trying to get away from having a 3rd gray car and black sapphire kind of makes the aggressive lines fade out. Not interested in white, as that would be my very last color option based on current colors available on the configurator.

All of my cars have been blue. I really love the marina bay color but on a big SUV I thought it also was a bit loud and attention grabbing. So the tanzanite it was. The tanzanite is great an it looks less flashy.

MBB is a stunning colour no doubt, but I've always been a sucker for a dark blue car. Had an Alpina B3 in BMW Midnight Blue and my last two X5's in Carbon Black. Like you I was smitten when I first saw an F80 M3 Comp in Tanzanite a few years back. Absolutely loved it and when I saw that BMW had brought it out as a colour for the X5 the choice came down to DG/MBB/CB/TB - TB won out in the end...

It has the wow factor MBB doesn't it. Calipers look good too with it.

Thank you very much!

The fact that the blue calipers match extremely well with MBB is a very nice touch, visually.

And less expensive than the individual color, lol

I agree 100%. I considered Tanzanite Blue II but I love how the MBB pops. I'm very happy with the color, and it matches the brake calipers very well.

I'm sure the brackets in the laser headlights also match well with MBB... while the tanzanite might contrast a bit awkwardly with those blue accents, since Tanzanite is slightly darker, but seemingly very close when comparing the two colors on a monitor.

I wish you all much enjoyment in those amazing machines! I'll join the F96 club soon enough

MBB is now my favorite shade of blue out of any car manufacturer. It pops and looks amazing in all lighting conditions. Tanzanite is also a beautiful color but it NEEDS the sun to show its awesomeness.

MBB is def NOT the color to get if you want to blend in. It makes the X5M really stand out. I have so many random people come up to me commenting on how beautiful the color of the car is no matter where i go. Its actually causing too much attention at my kids school to be honest lol.

Agreed. I wish I could get that color with the M50i version.

Epic shot - I have Driving Assistant Pro coming on mine as well and the central placement of the sensor looks good - better than on the new M3!

any interior shots? I also ordered the Alcantara cloth/beige interior with carbon fiber inlays.. The one they had on the lot had the aluminum crossline and thought it looked too busy. I just don't know if there's enough contrast to show off the carbon fiber..

I've seen the aluminum interior and thought it was horrifyingly bad. Piano black was my other choice from online pictures, but I really dislike wood in cars and in person it's very woody.

Anyway, here are some interior shots - hard to get a good one, but hope it helps:

Looks nice. Are you finding because the wheels are pushed out more you are getting more tiny stones, grit and “flings” from the road damaging the area behind front wheel wells?
