Does anyone go camping and offroad with thie X5?Do not mean rock climbing. Post pics

Do any of you go offroad and camping in the x5?
I am considering one or a Land Rover Defender.
I live in Iceland and would be doing a lot of traveling on gravel roads and such.
I would also like to put on some mora meaty tires.

I would go for a Defender in your situation. That is more suitable for off road use (diff lock, tyre options,...)

The X5 is a road suv with some off road capabilities due to xdrive.

I take mine on pretty nasty tracks, and fords. I have some land in Wales that is only accessible via "4x4" and I used my X3 before, and my X5 now. Sure, I'm careful about the paint and I tiptoe around a few particularly rough bits, but it works pretty well.

Hill descent and 360 cameras help a lot. Altho, it is a VERY heavy car so on wet rock/grass you have better be light on the brakes and know your inertia.

I probably would stay clear of deep mud, as the tyres (P zeroes) are definitely not going to work, but for wet/rock/stones etc it works fine.

Sounds interesting. What I am mainly thinking is some gravel and rocky roads

They removed the off-road package from 2021 so make sure you can get plates if there are any large rocks involved. I wonder if they still have off-road package in other countries.

X5 will suit you well in Iceland. Are you going to be taking it on F roads all the time?

I see it available in Canada. By the way, I hear some chatter ..... there are some issues with DSC and air suspension in this package, I cannot substantiate the issue.
