I measured my MY19 40i M Sport's wireless charger at about 6 3/4" x 3 9/16". The iPhone 12 pro max at 6.33" x 3.07" should fit, not considering the added case.

I have an 11 ProMax in a larger Bellroy case with card storage in the back. It fits great in the tray, in the case with some room to spare.
One other quick note - with my cars digital key card in the back of the phone case it works without removing it for unlocking the doors and starting the vehicle.

Nice trick. I do the same with the key card to open doors and log into computers at work. I just put it behind the normal cover of my iPhone. I will give it a try if it works with 2 cards. Now that I think of it. Won't the new magsafe in the iPhone 12 interfere with credit cards / keycards stored close to it. |

I think I read that the charging tray has an indicator light that shows when the phone is properly centered in the wireless charging tray...I haven't really looked for it. That might make a difference in efficiency. I'll have to go through the manual again to verify.
