I Changed My Wheel Size to 20"
Hey Everyone
I wanted to get all-weather tires on my X5M Comp, but the only Tire/wheel combo which BMW was offering where 21inch with alpine 5(Winters) I went with after Market 20 inch rims with 275/45 Michelin cross climates The extra sidewall really helps with ride comfort and the car grips very well and the more narrow tires help with road-noise, overall very happy let me know what you think and if you have any questions |

100% they are not going to perform as good as Winters But they still have their own advantages, so its 20-inch rims With a BMW logo on them is will try to upload an image it clears the Calipers and the brake disks

I hope you kept the overall diameter of front and back wheels/tires consistent with stock?
If not you could have massive issues with drivetrain and transmission. Also if BMW doesn't recommend that size they could void warranty if they cause issues

Interesting.... those look like replicas since i don't think the originals comes in black and its missing the ///M logo. Eitherway looks like there is plenty of caliper clearance from a diameter aspect. It does look very close to the back side of the spoke which i suspect will be the issue for most wheels. Nothing spacers can't fix.
Can you take a pic of the whole car further back? I'm sure people want to see what the whole car looks like. Thanks, Alan

I will keep updating if I find anything wrong with them. Ride quality has improved by 30% in my opinion I know most people like the stiffer ride, this is just another option, the ride is still stiff but over bumps and potholes in the road there is no harshness anymore, I have to see the snow performance |

21x9.5" ET37 front 275/40R21 21x10.9" ET43 rear 315/35R21 can go to tiresize.com to see how different wheels compare to original and can adjust or look for the offset you want then see if the manufacturer has it (or close to it) I converted to a 20" square setup with 20x9" ET27 275/45R20. I liked how the front sidewalls came out 10mm, but I used 18mm spacers in the rears to bring them out more. |

OEM sets will likely have a better chance of clearing the calipers since they're OEM. if u have M Sport calipers, still double-check fit with various sources if u can. there have been a few examples of 19" wheels clearing M Sport calipers, but it is very close, so that's why the recommended minimum size w/M Sport is 20". |
