Just wondering if anybody has any pictures to share of the Alcantera headliner option?
I am specifically wondering if the sunvisors and the sunroof shade is made from Alcantera as well?
Does the Alcantera also make the car sound quieter?

Yes, that seems to be the general consensus here. I wasn't sure about it myself, but it is part of a package I am ordering here in Canada.

I have the Alcantara headliner in my M550. The visors and moonroof cover are both Alcantara, too. My detailer put it best when he said it makes the car feel like an Alpina.

Every time I flip a visor down, it feels like money.

Absolutely get it. Luxury is about getting more than you need. A alcantara headliner is one of those luxury items that just completes the total package and pushes a vehicle above its similarly classed rival. This is why all these luxury items like soft-close doors, heated cup holders, etc...matter. When all these luxury items are combined together you get a world class luxury vehicle for those that can tell the difference.

That’s why I’m dreading the thought of losing my soft-close doors in the transition from M550 to X5 M50. It’s like I’ll have a puzzle with one missing piece.

It looks like Alcantera headliner is part of M-sport package and it may be a stand alone option for X-line

In the US for the 2021 model year it's a standalone Priority 1 option for the M50i. It's not available on the 40i. I don't have a 45e guide so I'm not sure about it.

I thought I missed 776 on my 40i order. Just verified in the ordering guide, not available on 40i but it is P1 for 45e.

Glad didn't go with 45e with a ton of shitty problems going on

Thanks for all the additional information. Just curious when someone says it's a priority 1 option what does that exactly mean?

I just picked up my 2021 X5 M50i today, with alcantera headliner. The car is absolute awesome, all the way around. But, if there's one single thing that I'm happy I optioned, it's the headliner...and only $650? It's a must have!

I haven't taken any pics yet.

It’s a big upgrade IMO. $650 up charge on a vehicle this expensive is practically considered free.

It's a $1000.00 up charge for the X7. The standard option is the cheap looking white liner that will look dirty and show every smudge and fingerprint in no time. Plus, the standard white looks and feels like Charmin Toilet Paper in my opinion.

I almost didn't get it when I ordered mine because I just assumed the headliner would match the interior color or be gray, brown or black. I caught it just in time before I placed the order. Even at a 1K up charge it was worth it.

It means it's only available on customer sold orders. Dealers cannot spec Priority 1 options for inventory which is why they're relatively rare options.

In the X7, the alcantara headliner is only available in Anthracite and the dark blue color of the Dark Shadow Edition, so I believe they're charging you for the color change to anthracite as well as alcantara material and that's why it's $1000. It's also included in the M Sport Package on the X7 which leads me to believe they're not doing an anthracite regular headliner for the X7 at all. If you want a dark headliner, it's going to be alcantara.

IMO, the alcantara headliner, leather dashboard and black merino full leather interior make my M50i feel very special inside.
