I leased a car through Greg a number of years ago and he was straightforward and easy to deal with. In my case, it was European delivery on a 535

Actually they have had it since the X5 came out. That is only available if you finance with BMW for a minimum amount (most say $7.5k) which you can play off in three months or so if you want to. It is not available for leasing.

Base for 3/36 is .00165 and I think that is the MF for all.

It hasn’t been .00188 for three months or so. Last month it was also .00165 and .00177 before that.

When I got numbers from my dealer, the MF was .00205. It made the 36-month lease payments as high as the five-year standard financing. So I jettisoned that idea. Also decided against the 5-year balloon, which would by far be the lowest payment ($300 less than regular loan).

The balloon also can be paid off at any time, AND you get the $2000 incentive, just like with a regular loan.

The were marking it up on you, many (most?) dealers will try and do that if the people don't know what the base is. Generally if you ask for the base they will lower the rate, many times to the base.

I had the dealer pricing info from edmunds and Kelly, but honestly I decided in a snap to order this car. The deal is good in my opinion, and I’m happy with the service I’ve gotten from the dealer so far. I can be a bit of a pain in the a$$.

Since then I’ve found this forum and have done a ton of research, and many other car comparisons. I am quite pleased that I chose this car. Nothing else on the market can match it for the price and flexibility.

As commented that the acoustic glass price will double for 2020 builds, I think the X5 is going to get more expensive. It is a smokin’ Deal compared to any other cars out there - particularly Mercedes. With its raging popularity, BMW is sure to make bank on that.

So I did it a$$ backwards - did all the research after ordering the car. I’ve always trusted my instincts and, once again, they didn’t let me down.

Edmunds' web site is a good source for pricing but in order to get the lease incentives, MF and RV, you need to go to their forums. They have a thread for each year/model and there are a couple of guys on there who provide the information as well as evaluate deals.

Yep, that’s what I do. I equip myself prior to shopping. I don’t ask the salesman the MF and residual. I force it on him, per say, and if he tries to jack-up the MF and residual I walk away.

^ I guess it depends on your area, and what incentives you got, but the discounts/incentives seem a little low. Many seem to be getting around 10% off before incentives.

I would say very well, good job.

Congratulations, good luck, enjoy and be safe.

Edit: Don't forget to join the BMW Car Club and get the $1k rebate.
