Sun Visor Waring Decal Removal

I did a search but not sure if it applies

The sun visor warning on my recent build G05 - kinda feel like it's heat/color imprinted onto the visor (it's not a solid sticker). If anyone knows of what I describe, what is the best way to remove it. And for those that may reply, based on how this warning info is -printed- on the visor, whatever solvents/chems used in this process, did it remove it clean or was some ---ghosting--- of the original visor warnings still there.

From what I have read and seen, no matter what method you use to try and remove the warning label, the outline of it (though faint) will always remain.
If that will bother you, then your best bet is to order new visors that are installed on vehicles going to Europe and maybe other countries.
Their governments don't require the labels.
But those visors are kind of pricey.

I did it within the first week I had the G05. If you look real hard you can see a faint outline. However, with the stickers there you can certainly see them!

Yeah and as I posted in Chuck W.'s post it didn't go so great for me. I have a drivers side Alcantara European OEM (no sticker) I'd sell if you run into any issues on that side. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

In that linked thread, it appears to be a whole sticker though on Alcantara.
In mine (non X5M), it's as if it's silkscreened on. I'll have to grab a light to take a second look (just got the truck Friday and haven't really spent alot of Time).....but the material appears to be textured vinyl and when you add in the silkscreen's warning into the raised/unraised texture, I don't think it's like the --good ole way of just ripping off a sticker-

They are definitely more like an iron-on or silkscreen type thing. I think that's almost universal for US sold vehicles.

If I wanted to order new visors, is there an option for ones that aren't as cheap$h1t as the OEM visors?

I checked last night. The trim material is indeed textured like me previous observation and the warning appears to be heat/silk screen applied. No good options to remove it based on both material and how it was ##$#@@ applied to it. It's not just a -sticker-

Just need to run the math and see where the #'s end up

- Option A is to just uninstall and have my upholstery shop respray the entire thing to cover it up. But that include time, miles, and toll charges....

Vs

- A Pair of New Ones

Not that heat stickers or the type being used was on my radar as I was deer eyed focused to make sure all options like hitch, tow, etc were allocated on the build with no deletes. All tick boxes on this build except for Alcantara....Between the panorama + NO alcantara fabric on the sunroof shades, I decided to opt out.

Had I had known regular stickers on alcantara vs...the silk screen stuff, it would have obviously made me tick the alcantara box !

Another alternative ... there are companies that manufacture stickers to go over the yellow visor notices. Do an internet search for multiple options. They appear to be inexpensive compared to new/recovers. I have not used any so I cannot speak to quality, etc., but it may be worth a shot before spending big money.

Everything from IND is really expensive.
Check around at some other places and they can be obtained for a lot less.
I would hope that the non Alcantara visors are also much lower priced.

Just an FYI - they aren't stickers on Alcantara either. I believe they are the same (or similar) as standard. Certainly seemed the same as those I removed from our prior 3 series but there (without Alcantara) I didn't have an issue with removal.

Maybe we are discussing the same Chas. And the issue you ran into is akin to the same thing I am facing (except alcantara is a bit smoother) than this graining/texture that I am looking at with the silkscreen sticker adhered/melted into both the -peaks/dips- of this material.

I've been removing these stickers in all of my BMW's since 2004 and the ones came off of my '19 G05 as easily as all of the other cloth, vinyl or alcantera ones did.

I've got a '21 G22 now and these are the first set that won't come off with heat or alcohol or goo-gone like I used on all the other ones.

Whatever BMW is doing to these stickers now, it seems they're here to stay

If I had the known the results that Chas8283 and wrickem experienced I would have been very hesitant to attempt removing the warning decal. However, as the ones shown in the YouTube video, mine were fairly easy to remove.

Euro's arrive today.

Hopefully it continues as it brief look , alot of the Euro's have similar heat applied stickers - smaller, squares but in some cases, it's just the same as it's a square on both sides of the visor.
