Multi contour seats w Luxury Package: Uncomfortable?

Been reading comments on the MultiContour seats with the Luxury Package. I have MultiContour in my '16 F15 and they have been fine. I ordered the Luxury package because the massage function seemed to get rave reviews. But I'm reading some folks saying they are now uncomfortable? Is this new for the G05? Will they soften up? Was it a mistake to add this package?

I have them on my new X5 and they are extremely comfortable, even apart from the awesome massage function. My wife agrees.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. I suppose asking about seat comfort is really among THE most individual opinions.

I find them extremely comfortable, the best seat I've had in a vehicle. Being able to adjust nearly everything I was able to get my seat dialed in perfectly after 3-5 days of small changes each day.

I'm 5'11" and weigh 165, maybe body and frame size matters as to the comfort of the seats?

i am 6'4" and i am having a hard time finding the right settings for me. also massage seats are barely noticeable when you do whole body massage.

Most comfortable seats in a car we have ever owned by far! Both the wife and I LOVE them.

And the massage feature is fantastic. It's not like a home massage chair that gives a deep tissue massage, its meant to reduce muscle fatigue by keeping them moving. So as long as you know that, you won't be disappointed! Far better than the ones in a MB or other brands I've tried. Other brands also only seem to do the back area, the X5 seats do the butt and side bolsters as well!

Love them. The most comfortable seats I have ever had. Noticeably better than a A8 I owned. The massage is very relaxing. I honestly dont know what else you could ask of a luxury car seat, they are that good. I am 6' 2" 200lbs.

I've had multicontour seats in the last four BMWs, I've had. This is the first I've had with ventilation or massage. These (with the luxury package) are less comfortable than the previous ones, I think. The seat bottom is harder. This is not to say they're not comfortable, just not exactly plush or quite as comfortable as previous ones without the luxury package.

It's also possible they'll break in, though. I've had the car for a week. Today, my wife road in it and then drove it for the first time. She thought the driver's seat was more comfortable than the passenger seat that no one had ridden in. So, possible they'll continue to break in.

And, the massage feature is pretty cool.

FWIW, they also don't seem to heat up as quickly or get as warm as previous ones (same for the steering wheel).

That's a good thing IMHO. My F15 steering wheel gets overly toasty, and the seats I usually only need the 2nd level of heating.

Had them in my E70 and got them for my G05 - can't add anything that hasn't already been said - they're great.

I've also had them in 3 previous X5's and these are not the same. The seat bottom is definitely harder. I don't have ventilated seats which are supposed to be harder and haven't in the past either so I'm comparing apples to apples. They're not as comfortable as before but more than the regular seats.

I agree with this. Have been making small changes every day for the first week... No more changes, it's very comfortable!

While I did not sit in them long enough to really decisively sayz their comfort was quite good. My X3 has very hard seats by comparison and they're not ventilated

I just drove 370 miles from Central PA to NE Ohio. Seats were wonderful. Especially the 1/2 hour back massage I got along the way.

They are comfortable, just not as comfortable as they were previously.

Same concern. Will be ordering soon and probably go with the Luxury seats. Thanks to all that replied!

I had 450 miles on the 50i. Just drove 200 interstate miles (often times at steady speeds even!) and I'm here to say these seats and the 'massage' feature pretty much suck as in no they are not comfortable for long distance driving. Fine for sport driving on short trips.

My only complaint is the seat part could be cushier. A little stiff. I'm guessing that's because of the massage stuff. Also wish the head rest could come forward without shoving my shoulders down like I'm trying to give myself a.. well, you know. lol...

I like how the side bolsters tighten when you put it in sport mode.

I think they'll break in over time, my current seats were a lot firmer initially, now they're a little less firm
