BMW 50i - Sport mode / Transmission Sport
Hi guys
Just picked up a new X5 M50i. I wanted to ask what effect flicking the gear stick in to "S" mode did, does it change just the trasmission changes or does it also make change to the enging / sound etc? Sometimes when you want that burst of speed, flicking the stick across is the easiest way to do it, rather than glancing down for the Sport button etc. Thanks |

Sport mode does it all based on the configuration and sub mode (sport regular, individual, plus), S mode on the shifter only modifies the transmission.

The only time I flick the lever to the left is when I see traffic ahead slowing down but know it will pick back up momentarily (instead of the brakes). And rare occasion for launch control.
