That's outstanding control over the RB16 . The RB16 didn't saw the grass mate !
HAM got the grass on his brake pedal ...

You could see that Max's car was uncontrollable even after exiting the off track by going sideways and then caught brilliantly. The stewards take these things into account.

That's pretty simple .Over the whole season Bottas will finish 2nd in the WDR . That's not too bad as we know Bottas has ZERO racecraft ..Driving a Merc is doing miracles !

As for HAM It wasn't too hard to beat Bottas ...

I think BOT is better than most give him credit for. Still, supposedly being in the best car of the decade he is over a hundred points behind in second. Max should be second if it wasn’t for mechanical breakdowns and impatience/being a general hothead.

If Bottas was driving for another team , he wouldn't finish in the WDR top-7 .
Last week in Turkey , Bottas spun 6 times ..And was lapped by HAM .
Bottas is the Mercs shame ..He doesn't belongs there !

MAX got 4 DNF in this season and was P6 in Turkey .
In all the other races he finished on the podium . MAX is actually the best of the rest in the slower car , but was able to split the Mercs anyway .

Next season will be the same .Playing on repeat ...

According the latest from Ferrari : The '21 Ferrari PU looks very promising .
Italians ...

Outstanding control to P6

Viewing all of the track including the grass to P1 and 7th WDC....

Keep it up, it’s entertaining

The mad thing is that Verstappens massive spin and subsequent extra pit stop (to swap a fairly new set of (now flat spotted) tyres) cost him at least 30 seconds.
30 seconds off his finish race time would already have seen him in 2nd place!
Add in the time for his other spins/slides and wheelspining when up on the wet kerbs might well have seen Verstappen win.
But there is no point in having easily the fastest car when you don't have the skill in poor conditions to make the most of it.

The comparison of Hamilton and Verstappens lap chart shows the difference.
Hamiltons lap times are very consistent especially after passing Vettel...Verstappens on the other hand vary far more from lap to lap.

Completely agree, it would have been a more entertaining race if Max could have been more consistent. He was putting down some good lap times but not sustained.

Let's turn this around a little. I want to see what Leclerc could do in the RB16 compared to Max.

I think everyone is, really.

What would be fun to do, but likely never happen, is for the FIA and F1 teams to create a 3-5 race series for all the drivers in "spec" cars. Drivetrain, electronics, and chassis are the same for all. Teams can work on suspension setup, tire pressures, crossweights, etc. (I might be describing F2)

I think it would be a lot of fun for everyone and likely a bit eye-opening.

Me too...interestingly (IIUC) Leclerc was significantly faster than both Hamilton and Verstappen in the second half of the Istanbul race.
Bar that last gasp lockup he would have been second having been 14th at the end of lap1.
I have Leclerc as the second fastest driver after Hamilton.

There was an identically prepared race car series from the 70's-80's entitled International Race of Champions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intern...ns#Road_racing

I saw the this series compete at Riverside International Raceway in Riverside CA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivers...tional_Raceway the acclaimed road circuit. If memory serves me, the cars were identically prepared Porsche 911 Carrera RSR race cars or the IROC Z28 Camaro race cars, with twelve hand selected drivers from all aspects of professional motorsport....it was FUN.

I remember watching them run the Camaros. I'd like to see something similar for F1 drivers.

No shock this type of post from you. He's had some amazing drives in a car that is possibly not even 10th best on the grid anymore.

Review time again. Where did Leclerc finish last week and where did Max the supposed regenmeister end up.
