Hi all!

Been thinking about getting a carbon hood for my X5M, I wanted to know what you all think before I make the purchase if I buy it. Mine is a marina bay blue with ivory white and black interior! Let me know what you all think!

Thank you

It’ll look great in darker colors for sure! Is your blue a darker blue?

I got a red so I decided to just go with the kidney grill and the two “C” in the front in CF.

Personal opinion. Exposed carbon hoods are not meant for this car. The rest of the car would have to be modded very aggressively to pull off that look.

Painted with some exposed carbon is the way to go and that is only if the carbon hood is VERY high quality. Most carbon hoods looks wavy and it gets exaggerated when its painted. Nothing a good body shop can't correct but its something that has to be called out for them to do.

I agree Alan, I was planning on doing more carbon bits within the next few months here but still very on the fence about the CF hood. Like you said it is hard to pull off especially on an SUV and I will definitely have to look into partially painted with exposed CF.

Lol I was thinking the same thing that's why I am still really on the fence about this. Wanted to see the general opinion. Thank you for the input

Put carbon hood without any other carbon pieces on the car will look odd in my opinion if you will make sure to add PPF on it, it will chip that hood in no time with no solution to fix it.

I have a carbon front lip and spliters and grille currently, and I do plan on PPFing and ceramic coating it if I do end up getting it.
