ECU Failed

I've been successful in coding other categories, but when trying to activate the memory start/stop, it fails. Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure you are in diagnostic mode when you try to code. See if this gets ride of this error.

make sure you understand the steps needed to code. I'm super 'procedural' and anal. you could brick the vehicle and be SOL.

Yeah I understand the steps and I have been able to code other features successfully. However, I am still a beginner with coding. Am I missing something?

What is diagnostic mode and how do I do that?

clearly not lol as the vehicle 'should be' in diagnostic mode while coding, though I too have been able to code while not in DM, so it doesn't appear to be 'required'. depending on your adapter, it may put the vehicle in DM automatically upon connecting to the app. that's been my experience with BimmerCode using either the CX or MHD adapters

G05 diagnostic mode: press the START/STOP button quickly 3 times (don't press the brake pedal)

You cannot have the motor running when coding the BDC ECU. Some ECUs can be coded with the motor on but all can be coded in diagnostic mode.

You will get a notification displayed in your instrument panel when the vehicle is in "Diagnostic Mode" then start the coding procedure

Engine must be OFF for that coding. Try again with engine off and it will code.

Put another way, there are some modules that cannot be programmed while the vehicle is running and not in diagnostic mode.
