My 2022 X5 40i has been pushed back 2 weeks in the last 2 days. Ugh. Anyway - where do I get/buy a manual while I'm whining? This will be my first BMW and I'd like to get smart(er). Thanks in advance, Jim

If you have your VIN, you can make an account at www.bmwusa.com after clicking the 'MyBMW' link at the top, and both monitor the production process and download a PDF of your manual. IF you don't have your VIN yet, go to a dealer's website, find an X5 with the same model/series, and use that VIN to get a copy. There are also instructional videos you can watch.

It's nearly 500 pages, so there's a lot to read!

At first, I thought you meant a MANUAL. You know...a real one. And I got excited (like, teenage boy in movie theater excited)....the early X5s did have a manual to be had...and probably most were shipped overseas.

The manual (that you read) is totally crappy. You need readers, and it's a small book of 600 pages (like a Catholic missal). I was able to print most of the PDF at work....

Wish X5s came with a manual option - and wish BMW printed a decent manual that you can read!

Enjoy the car...took me a month to figure out/there are some frustrations with Connected Drive/etc (wtf do we need the internet to drive??)...but I love it. Biggest regret - not going with the X5 50....or the M. But - there is always next year!

i've found youtube videos to be an excellent source of info...both official stuff from BMW NA, individual how to's from dealers...and user generated content as well from youtubers.

To also add...if you have your VIN...you can download a separate BMW owner's app that separate from the mybmw app which is basically a digital owner's manual...i've found that useful as well.

A simple google search should get you results.

For example, type “BMW 2022 X5 owners manual PDF” into a google search box and see what you get. There is no difference between the models…the manual covers every standard feature and conceivable option…plus the design architecture is the same between models…so they are all the same.

EDIT: Yep…just did the above and at the very top of the results list was this link where you can read and/or download a 2022 X5 owners manual. So true. BMW stopped including (in the US at least) a printed owners manual for the Navigation, Entertainment and Communication systems. That in itself is over 100 pages long.

But you can ask your dealer to order printed brochure for you and they should be able to source it. That's what I did.

Jad - I used that VIN - it took me to a site to download manuals. I clicked on the link. Now...
