Rear Diffuser - Paint or Wrap?
I am thinking about either wrapping or painting the rear diffuser from white to black or the same grey color it's adjacent to. Some of the posts I've read on the forum seem to feel like painting is a better way to go and that would probably allow me to match that grey color perfectly. I've also read there are clips, etc... so taking it off and getting it back on isn't necessarily straight forward so I prefer to have someone do this who has done this before vs. doing it myself. Anyone recommended a shop in the NY/NJ/PA area that has successfully done this sort of work?

If you're going to do the white diffuser, I'd probably go with paint if you own the car. Maybe even get one second hand from a black car
I had a bigger issue with the grey part being grey (along with the side skirts trim) and not matching any of the black trim on the rest of the car. I wrapped my grey parts black and left the white diffuser white, its more coherent being black all around now: I have a picture of a car I've seen with the diffuser in black, it looks like too many colours back there IMO: (not my car) |

maybe consider AutoFlex spray to that diffuser versus wrapping or painting. goes on like paint but can remove like a wrap

I have a good friend that own's a business that wraps vehicles. I wanted him to do mine in a CF look. He basically told me to get it painted as with all those edges there would be so many seams that he thinks you would notice to easily. he did say a solid color my work as there is no pattern.

Yeah I figured. I've wrapped two cars in the past so I am familiar with the process and something like that would not come out right without a ton of joins/seams. even if you manage to do it all one piece the vinyl will be so stretched it would lift/bubble.
I would get it painted gloss black to match the tips then get gloss black badges to tie it all in. Alan

definitely depends on installer skill. mine is wrapped in ppf which is thicker than vinyl, and he did a great job. No adhesion or lifting issues for 10 months since install

Great work! Not saying its not do-able but installer skill varies so much and I couldn't believe some of the wrap jobs ive seen people pay for. Most places would have just stretched the hell out of the vinyl and call it a day.......then to have it lift after a few weeks/months.

The 3 blocks that sticks out I layed it in gloss black to go with the exhaust trim and layed the rest with CF film by VviVid. Done it as a side job as that’s my hobby |
