OTA Upgrade Stuck

I have two issues in OTA upgrades (07/2022.58) to the X5 and our 330.

X5 - Downloaded the software to the phone, transfer it to the X5 but won't get to installing the software. It's been a couple of days.

330 - Downloaded the software to the phone but I'm stuck at 0% transferring to the car. This has also been a couple of days.

Does anyone have any remedies to get these moving?

I have ALWAYS had to drive the car around to get the software to load. Didn't matter if it was a download from OTA or from the phone. Once it fully loaded, then I would go home and park it and let it install. If yours already download to the X5, make sure you follow the procedure to prepare for install. There's a checklist of stuff like activating parking brake, etc.

In regards to the X5, I was in the car driving when it loaded. I just can't get it to get to the next step which is to install.

As for the 330 I did the same thing by driving but it's stuck at zero in transferring the upgrade from the phone to the car.

Wondering if the install and app are confused with two cars trying to update at the same time.

X5 is going to the dealership for service on Monday. I'll see what they say and can do.

What about a hard reboot on the iDrive (hold volume down for 30 sec)? Simple but known to fix other problems.

I should have mentioned that I did that on the 330 but no change, still stuck.

I'm going to give that a go on the X5 later this morning to see if I can move that along.

Did an iDrive reboot on both the X5 and the 330. No change to either, X5 waiting to install the update and the 330 is stuck transferring at 0%.

For the X5, once you select upgrade now. You're prompted to a screen with a bunch of check marks or Xs. Are all the requirements checked? Only once all the requirements are checked, will you be prompted to begin the install.

I can't quite remember all the requirements, but I recall some were:
-keep key fob in car
-parking brake is applied
-exterior lights off

My X5 iDrive indicates it is on 07/2022.33 and when I search for an update, it says "no updates available".

That is the latest OTA update. The 11/2022 is a dealer only update for now. They’re usually 1 release behind on the OTA.

I'm in the same position - its just stuck on my X5 and doesn't seem to want to install the update. Its uploaded fine, but won't install.

The wait continues - its been 5 days now.

The X5 is at the dealer for service. Made them aware and they said they'll look into it. Will keep you posted.

Hopefully they throw it on a charger while servicing so it will update for you or maybe they will just update it.

So they updated it. Here is the service performed. The battery voltage was insufficient.

BMW, at least with an iPhone, requires both a BT and WiFi connection to the X5 before it will transfer the data and complete the upgrade process...many people just have BT for their cellular data, but you also need to connect to the vehicle with it's WiFi connection for the upgrade.

The file is large, BT is pretty slow.

Same here. 2019 X5. Update is stuck and it’s been three days. No issues that I can see. Tried everything and nothing works.

I was in the same boat where it was stuck. Had the car in for service and the upgraded it for me. Still can’t update the 330.

Put car on battery charger overnight then 8 hr drive. Still stuck.

If the battery is truly fully charged, then also check the items listed in the pic. If it still doesn't prompt to start the install, then maybe your only solution is to drop by a dealership.

Stuck just before that screen. Dealer is worthless. Friends don't let friends take their cars to Fields BMW in Florida

Same problem here. New to me 2019 X5 40i and there does not appear to have been many OTA updates on this car since it is running 11/2020.50. I downloaded 07/2021.85 to my phone and it was successfully uploaded to the car over wifi. The myBMW app says it has uploaded to the car and I should follow the instructions on the screen but here is where i am stuck. iDrive says it will notify me when I can install the update but it has been 4-5 days with plenty of driving and no progress. I have not even been able to progress to the checkmark page

I have an X7, and same issue (downloaded but installation won't start) for 07/2022.58.
Taking it to the dealer tomorrow for reprogramming (dealer-pushed update). It is weird that it is happening for everyone this month.
