Very frustating experience with BMW service

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
So I left my car for a week at a local BMW service center with a few problems

1. Doors creaking whenever I go up a ramp (known issue and easy fix)
2. My steering column clicking every morning on startup
3. A rattle that I isolated to the roof mounted vent by the SOS button, if I hold that little vent it will not rattle anymore when I go over anything but smooth asphalt.
4. A tapping sound coming from my fuel tank after every fill up.

They had the car for a week and tell me that they didn't fix anything because they didn't replicate it.

Problems 1-3 happen 100% of the time and are readily reproducible.

The fuel tank tapping is harder to reproduce but I have sent them numerous videos of the sound happening.

They refuse to fix anything....even simply putting the silicone treatment on the door seals.

What should I do in this situation? Is this just a lame duck dealer that doesn't want to work outside of oil changes/brake jobs?

It happens all too often. I would contact the Service Director and explain the situation and your expectations.

that's a a lazy a-- dealership. better to go to more that one in certain situations. just based on the problems you are experiencing there are no major parts to replace, however a lot of labor involved in removing and putting things back together, hence the non-interest (they make money of parts right). one more thing to do is to tackle one problem at a time; know that it's time consuming but you can work with them to get it actually resolved.

Yeah, I figured its just an indolent dealership.

I'll just take my car to a better dealer. There's plenty on long island.

Garage List
Did a tech ride with you to hear the noises you've described? Every time I have noise or rattling issues, a tech at the dealership will ride with me to replicate.

Bmw of Manhattan did a ride along w me after a complaint and actually fixed a few issues. I think they are decent and well organized.
