Cold air intake for M50i?

Are there any out there?

I haven’t found one yet. The only thing I’ve found so far is just to replace the air filter with a drop in replacement. It doesn’t appear the tuner market for the m50i is big enough to warrant special development.

Change the intake filter element if you are looking to spend some money and it will likely feel faster. "Cold Air" intakes are usually a waste of money regardless of what ever BS test results are presented in a sales pitch.

Dinan did just release a CAI for the X5M. I don't have hope that they will make one for the M50i; i seem to recall reading they don't think the market is big enough but perhaps someone will fill the gap in the market.

take the stock boxes and make a mold. use the mold to vacuum cure some cf. sell cf stock boxes as cold air intakes.

profit.

As already said, the stock intakes are as close to that as you're likely to get. Between the two panels there's plenty of surface area and the ducting off the front of the car achieves what you're looking for.
