Top Speed Limiter
Anyway to remove top speed limiter on 22 G05 M50i or raise it? I know the flash tunes do it but no flashy flashy for 22 yet. I heard its 130. And I saw something that flash tunes will auto void powertrain warranty? Is this true... 20" wheels top speed is 130...21 and over is 155? 20" wheel comes with all season RF...21 and up come with perf tires.

Living in NYC, why do you really care about a speed limiter? It's not like it limits your acceleration potential, and if you exceeded even the 130mph limit, you'd be a danger to both yourself and everyone else on the road...do you track your vehicle? I doubt there's few places that even 130 would limit you in a street legal vehicle.

I regularly do 145mph+ on the German Autobahn.
Trust me... you don't want to go over 155 in an X5.... it is unstable as F. Even at 130mph, you have to slow for curves. Granted, I have air suspension, but still. it's just not stable at those speeds. Car feels all sorts of "wobbly" Nevertheless, there are places that can do it, but both ECUs need to be removed from the car, and shipped to them. So, there is downtime associated.

I know for a fact the 155 is bullshit I have maxed it at 167mph
Also older x5m 2017 is dead even with a 2020 x5m50i. In the video I do 162mph but I did hit 167mph the other day. I have option SA840 added. |

Living in the USA, I can't see any rational reason you'd want to go over the 130-mph limit. Your acceleration to that speed would be the same regardless.
Living in Europe, especially Germany, yes, maybe. But, if your tires are not suitable, you risk a really bad end result! Bad stuff can happen very quickly, and most people are not prepared for it or safe doing it. |
