I agree that S68 is pretty much guaranteed, but S58 is a plenty suitable option if given sufficient electric power. But yes BMW doesn't seem to be going that route.

The upcoming C63 is going to be a 4-cylinder PHEV, and the next E63 might do the same.

I'm surprised S68 PHEV is able to meet future Euro regulations. Personally, I'd actually prefer an electrified S58 in the M5. It'd help offset some of the weight gain, be plenty powerful, and I'm partial to BMW's I6s.

I see a lot of E39 which is great. Other angles I see a lot of MB as well so that's a concern.

What would be interesting is if they are able to keep interior dimensions the same (no one needs more room inside a 5-series) but manage to reduce the car overall length and width, and can reduce weight as well.

I just wonder that why bmw limits its power to 750 hp for next-gen m5. Is that enough to beat gt63s e-performance which makes 843 hp..

I plan to finally take delivery of my 2022 M5C next month and will be asking the dealer if they can put me on the preliminary list for one of the first individual next-Gen M5s . ..

The S68 is sounding plenty loud to me. Skip to 1:35 in the video. I'm guessing that's in Sport+.

This car is so flat through the turns that it has to have the Active Roll Stabilization that is in the X5 M.

To each their own. My F90 had GruppeM intakes, DP and exhaust. I want a V8 to sound like a V8.

I think that sound is coming from the car ahead of the prototype.... if you look carefully, you can see a car just going over that hill at the end (in front of the M5 proto).
