Retrofit Laser Lights in UK/EU (have all other options apart from Laser Lights)
Hi all,
I would like to retrofit Laser Lights on my X5 G05. Money is not a problem. My X5 has all the options you can imagine apart from Laser Lights, and that's really what's putting it down in terms of looks. I have Massage Seats BMW Individual Brown Seats White Car 4 Zone AC Control Sunroof Driver Assistance Professional Comfort Access HUD Crystal Gear selector, and other bits and bobs in crystal Tow Bar carbon Body Kit all round etc, etc The only thing missing is Laser Lights. I had to sacrifice the laser lights for interior comfort as there wasn't a car that was available with the above options. And now I want to retrofit the laser lights. I am based in the UK and willing to drive anywhere in the UK and EU to get these retrofitted. Does anyone know where I can get this done please? |

You don't need it. In my previous BMW had LED adaptive , now have laser and to be honest don't see night driving difference. They looks nice with blue inserts but that is all.

Well considering that BMW is going away from them. The rapid decrease in cost and increase in output of the LED counterparts have caused there to be limited purpose to the laser lights. It would be extremely expensive, think $6-$7k and you'd need to find someone to program them. It's really not worth it at all for a couple of blue lines on your headlights.

Based in Liverpool. Literally just removed the front bumper/ headlights put the laser headlights in then put the bumper back. Had someone that does my coding remotely code them. 1h 30min altogether to fit the 15/20 minutes coding as the modules needed to be flashed with being used

Yeah I’ll do them for you and get them coded. I bought mine used off eBay think I paid around £1800 for a pair but sold my led ones for £1200 as they had only done 8-100 miles when I done them so it wasn’t as expensive as everyone makes out.

How do I get in touch with you? And I see they have right hand drive versions or US versions on eBay, are those the same or I have to look for specifically RIGHT HAND drive laser lights? (what difference would it make)

I will send over my number, you want euro spec ones. Left or right hand drive as it’s swichtable in the idrive menu. What do you mean in regards to the difference? Units or different in light performance?

I thought the retrogit was a lot more involved than just swapping headlight units ! I guess coder found more ways to reprogram existing controller instead of having to replace them with laser compatible one ? anyways I'd love to hear more about it. I like my LED headlight but I wish I could see the fancy laser show in action... if BMW actually has that technology considering here in the US they never deployed the potential of laser headlight at all, and LED are just as good if not better unless programmed to euro specs. NHTSA was actually complaininig the LED were projecting light farther than they recommend compared to laser
