Color Choices...Disappointed
Just venting,
I own two BMWs purchased new...both wonderful cars. 2018 X3M40i Silver 2023 X545e, one of the grays. I've always bought silver cars. MBs and BMWs. Silver was always, and still is, a popular color. BMW does not offer silver as a paint choice any longer in the 2,3 or X series. Does anyone know the reasoning ? Curious |

Likely a low take rate and it wouldn't be profitable to do so, ROI is usually the main reason behind the marketing decisions.

It seems there has been quite a reduction in the number of colours offered the last few years.

I couldn't tell as in the past many folks have said the same thing about various colors and were serious.

Rainmn60 I agree, hence the query. They seem pretty close... maybe SG has a bit more 'grey' than underlying 'blue grey' but close. Also, SG seems more towards silver. I was close to Tanzanite Blue for my order but upon seeing SG in the flesh, I was sold. It brings out the design lines of the LCI really well...

[QUOTE=TurtleBoy;31034872]No, that is not correct.
It’s not called silver. It looks pretty silver to me. It’s called frozen pure gray metallic. |

I was on the fence choosing between Skyscraper Grey and Tanzanite Blue. I love silver cars, all my cars I’ve ever had wore light paints (BMWs were white, titanium silver, donington grey). But I just couldn’t bear how sad SG looks where I live. The thing is, this color (like most car paints) changes with the amount of light it gets. I simply live way up north, and every time I see a BMW in Skyscraper paint, it appears bland grey. Really not exciting or bright silver at all. And on an overcast, rainy day it’s really dreary looking
So, I went with Tanzanite, which will look like an „interesting black”, except for a few sunny summer days, when it’ll show the sparkle For reference, I attach a snap of my F10 in titanium silver. It was gorgeous in full sun. SG doesn’t come close
