SF Bay Area Dealer
I'm considering ordering a new X5. Does anyone have a recommendation for a dealer in the SF Bay Area?
I would also consider going through a broker. |

When I was shopping around last February for an X5 45e, the dealers I spoke to didn’t have any allocation until June for July delivery.
Send a quote request via Truecar, you will get responses from Fremont and Peter Pan BMW. I ended up placing an order with BMW Santa Maria as I’ve known one is the sales manager for 20 years now and got an excellent deal. My X5 is scheduled to be produced this week for May delivery. I’ve always had great experience with East Bay BMW if that helps. But I don’t think they participate with Truecar. |

email Jon Shafer at Santa Maria he run the bimmerfest site and is fantastic. Not much of a drive for you and he'll take care of you. I just ordered a car from him and I'm in Wisconsin.
Greg Poland isn't too far from you either and I've bought from him before as well but he's got a new job now (managing) so I'm not sure if he still does client direct. |

I've contacted like 70% of CA dealers at this point. Of the last 4 BMWs I've had this is definitely the most challenging time for whatever reason. I think if you email around and tell them the terms you want you'll get someone to budge. I'm in the process now and will keep you posted! Feel free to PM me if you want to compare any notes.

I just had a great experience with Sean at Mountain View BMW. I ordered an X5 from the factory. Great pricing, nice price on my trade and he is very professional and responsive. Steven’s Creek had good pricing, but experience wasn’t that great. East Bay was nice, but pricing and trade value were low. Peter Pan had good pricing on vehicles on the lot, but special order wasn’t as good. Mountain View is part of Autonation, so I think their allocations must be good.
Call Sean and tell him David that ordered the Phytonic Blue X5 sent you. Sean is really great and I have no skin in the game. I’m not related to him, friends with him or knew him before this transaction. On an unrelated note RVASUDEV, how long is it taking to get to the Bay Area from SC? My production completion date is 4/30.

Hi,
Great discount! Do you have Sean's email? Also on your trade-in how did they work out the value considering that your ordered car won't arrive in two months? Thanks, Quote:

SF Bay Dealer recommendation
I purchased a new X5 x40i from Mountain View BMW a couple of months ago. The entire experience was pleasant and things happened as promised. The Sales Associate in my case was Leonardo Lunardi (lunardil@autonation.com) and he was an example of professionalism.

I was looking to buy 45e and the mountain view dealership is just minutes away. They were great with test drives (of just an X5 40i) and talking over things. Ultimately going to purchase out of state when I move, but they've been quite pleasant whenever I've come in or had questions to look at things in person for ordering purposes (comparing leather or in lays etc)

I'm looking for a x5e and MV says I wouldn't get the car until March 2023.
Has anybody bought from Peter Pan BMW in San Mateo who could share experience? I've heard of people getting under MSRP there recently, and PP claims to have the largest allocation in the Bay Area + markups can be negotiated to 0. |

I bought mine from Raj at Peterpan BMW. At that time, I was talking to MV BWM and Peterpan, Peterpan gave me better price (by $1000). Overall experience with Raj is great, very direct and based on need communication during the process, which worked well for me. I don't like to be bug for unnecessary check in.
The catch, if I have to pick one, is Peterpan is an Penske group dealer., while MV and StevenCreek is Auto West (larger volume). So MV or StevenCreek may get more allocations, so less waiting on waiting list, maybe? My peterpan timeline from order to obtaining alloction looks like this: - Initial order, being placed on waiting list was placed in Feb 16, 2022. I was in 15th place for 45e. At that time, I think all March allocation is settled. - I got allocation for May production on April 19. This mean Peterpan get at most 14 allocation per month for 45e, because I didn't make April. Once allocation was obtained, the build and delivery process is probably the same everywhere. So total of 4.5 month from order to delivery, 2 months waiting for allocation. 0.5 month from allocation confirm to build start. 2 month for build and transport. So total of 5 months isn't out of norm in current situtaiton. Plus the new EV bill, most people in bay area, looking at 45e, will exceed income limit. So I am not surprised more people pull in their order to make year end delivery.
